What is Single Small Connector On Alternator - 98 Expedition

You are right about that! Still cheaper than a new one. Over 250k miles on this now. Now I am changing parts that have already been changed. I cheaped out on the last alternator, but was surprised to get 7 years out of the AA Tough One.

What is Single Small Connector On Alternator - 98 Expedition

That is the part. I see a wide variation in prices. This only about 6-8 dollars. The rest I see are around 30.00 - 40.00. Would there be any substantial difference in quality, or would I be able to depend on this inexpensive part.

What is Single Small Connector On Alternator - 98 Expedition

My alternator went out and I just replaced it. Easy job and output voltage is reading good now. There is a wiring harness going to the alternator and one of the connectors in that harness is a small single push in type single wire connector. That connector is loose. I rigged it and wedged it to...

    2003 Suburban Belt Tensioner Pulley

Thanks, I am a little confused about why 2 mounting points would be better than 3. Were there problems with the 3 bolt tensioners? I have 200k miles on my 3 bolt.

    2003 Suburban Belt Tensioner Pulley

I want to replace my belt tensioner pully on my 2003 5.3 Suburban 1500. When I took it off to change water pump, I noticed the bearing sounds dry and I do have a squeaking noise coming from the engine compartment, so maybe this is the problem. I wanted to use OE, but noticed the OE Delco only...

2003 Suburban - Need Water Pump

If I had more time for shipping, I would have definitely gone with OE Delco online but I need Suburban for work tomorrow. Ended up with Napa. The only one they had in stock. They said it was Gates with lifetime warranty. Turns out it is GMB with lifetime warranty. It is an easy job, so I can...

2003 Suburban - Need Water Pump

It looks like I have a leak originating from my water pump behind the pully. 2003 Suburban 1500 5.3 2wd. From what I understand, water pump problems are common on these vehicles. I had mine replaced once already, not sure what it was replaced with. I am looking for recommendations of an...

    Rear End Noise 2003 Suburban

Ended up doing rear main job. I will explore options for rear end or save up. Turns out diagnosis was for pinion bearings, not carrier bearings, but mechanic says it would only save a few hundred bucks.

    Rear End Noise 2003 Suburban

Just took vehicle to mechanic... Their diagnosis is carrier bearings going bad, and it is very slight, but should be done. They said they would replace pinion bearing, pinion seal, carrier bearings and wheel bearings for 1500.00. I also have rear main seal leak (Different thread) for 1350.00 . I...

Changing Rear Main Seal In Driveway? - 2003 Suburban

Just as a side note, this has been a small leak, a couple drops in driveway overnight, but for me, I hate any leaks. Don't know what is happening while running under pressure.

Changing Rear Main Seal In Driveway? - 2003 Suburban

Skill level is plenty of common sense, good with hands, plenty of tools, but don't do mechanics for a living, but done my fair share. Changing Rear Main Seal In Driveway? - 2003 Suburban

I have a trustworthy mechanic that has done work for me in the past who would change rear main seal and oil pan gasket on my 03 Suburban for $1300.00. I have been watching videos and it looks like a doable project but looks like removing the transmission could be a pain. Does this seem like a...

Valve Cover Gasket Replacement Gone Wrong

With regards to torque wrench, I bought the 1/2" version of the AC Delco digital torque adapter for torqueing a few 200 lb+ fasteners instead of buying an expensive torque wrench for those few parts. They also make a 3/8 version. Aside from that application, I use it to verify my torque settings...

    2003 Suburban 5.3L - Plug Gap - Conflicting Information

Mine is the L59. Would I be wasting my time installing the 41-962 double platinum gapped at .060, instead of using the Iridium. I got these, because they are the ones that came with my truck when I bought it and I thought the OE spec would be a good target for replacement.
