First set was OEM, second Monroe. It’s definitely not mounts or strut bearings at this point. Noise is exactly the same after changing them twice!

I actually tried 16s and they rubbed on the very top of the steering knuckle! To get 16s to clear I’d have had to get like 30 offset wheels.

They do have a taller sidewall by a 1/4 inch. Not much, but thought it would help. 225/70/17 is non existent and a 245/65/17 is getting g into much heavier tires. Hence I went 235/65/17.

It rode ok. CX-5s ride pretty firm to begin with. I use a Milton dial gauge which is supposed to be one of the better brands.

I’d be doing 10k intervals with that kind of driving conditions as well! HOWEVER, there’s been many reports here with severe fuel dilution in short trip driving in cold weather. My 2016 gets short tripped in winter and the oil reeks of fuel after about 3k. I’d go 5k max under those conditions.

The data sheet showed the ultimate protection to be GTL I think! Definitely a sleeper oil.

They’re definitely a tad noisier than a basic touring all season tire, especially when new. Mine are about 8/32 now and they’ve quieted down. Ride comfort is great. They feel like a softer compound, so handling is not like a z-rated performance tire! Probably a step down from a touring tire...

I can definitely say a 3pmsf rated all weather tire is the way to go if you encounter any kind of snow/ice on a regular basis. I put Yokohama Geolander CV4S tires on my AWD CX-5 which are all weather 3PMF rated with a 60k tread wear warranty and they blow away any all season tire I’ve ever had...
