    Black+Decker LCS1020 cordless chainsaw

I assume nobody in your area would want the wood if you advertised it for free? Perhaps you can get someone from Craigslist to haul it away cheaper than the arborist would.

    Skid steer vs mini excavator

Thanks folks. Seems like the skid is the best way to start. Now I Gotta start thinking about dump trailers and a larger work truck.

    Skid steer vs mini excavator

I’m not sure what jobs I’ll be taking on. As many as I can with the machine I choose I guess. There are a lot of jobs that it seems like both machines will do but I think the skid will do most of them faster. I found some excavator attachments for the front of the skid steer which might be...

    Skid steer vs mini excavator

I’ve been tossing around the idea of adding a piece of equipment to my arsenal to dip a toe into the excavation/land clearing business. Between a small skid steer and a mini excavator which do you think would get me more jobs and make me more money? I‘m leaning towards buying a small skid...

Is there any practical benefit to letting a passenger car oil warm up before driving?

I’ve still never owned a vehicle with remote start. When I lived up near the Arctic circle I’d go start my truck 20 mins before I was finished work. Keep the fob with me so I could lock the doors. Here in Southern Ontario it doesn’t get cold enough to bother with starting up early.

    New B&S 550EX - Delo 400 15w-40?

That oil sounds perfect for your conditions. Post a picture! I’ve always been jealous of aussies and their Victa mowers.

Is there any practical benefit to letting a passenger car oil warm up before driving?

Unless you live right beside an on ramp and have to gun it right away 30 seconds will do. Usually by the time the windows are clear and you’re all situated and finished muttering under your breath about the weather your vehicle will be ready for action.

    Troy Bilt Tomahawk Chipper

I would say anything that uses a rotating drum of flails like mine works best. Echo bearcat chipper/shredders seem to often use this style. With all the flails being staggered there really is no way for material to make it through without being struck. With the large flywheel type shredders...

    Seems to work.

    Troy Bilt Tomahawk Chipper

I was reading through the manual and it turns out it’s actually a 4” chipper. Bonus! Anything that big I’ll be keeping for firewood though. I don’t imagine chipping anything much bigger than 2”.

    Troy Bilt Tomahawk Chipper

Thought you lot might appreciate this well kept older chipper I picked up today. I always have large brush piles around the property to burn and it takes forever so I thought a chipper would cut down on my brush problem. This one can handle 3” branches apparently and the 8hp Briggs runs...

Craftsman pyt9000 50 in lawn tractor keeps disengaging the blades. Why?

Does it kill the engine too or just the blades stop?

    New STIHL MS180

I bought a 170 to use for work this spring. Seems pretty cheaply built but it runs well enough. For the price it’s a tolerable saw.

    Craftsman leaf vaccum

The little chipper on those leaf vacs can be handy for small branches you come across. I don’t know why Billy goat doesn’t have that feature. I did a leaf job the other day and the lady said there’s no way I’ll get them all in one truck load. I blew them all into a rough rectangle, shredded...

So did you end up buying that billy goat?

Buy a new washing machine or no?

I would get rid of that washer and buy a good used whirlpool/Kenmore direct drive from a used appliance store. They were built to last which is probably why they stopped making them in 2012 or so.

    Post your lawn mower photo.

Indeed. My tractor is also 11hp. It’s amazing what gearing can accomplish. The only time I feel it’s not enough power is when running high speed attachments like mowers off the PTO.
