    Mobil 1 0w-40

****PCV I have had great luck with Mobil 1 0W-40 in other applications, so I think I’ll just let it ride and repeat with another run after this cleaning phase and see what happens with respect to oil consumption.

    Mobil 1 0w-40

The car was recently purchased so prior I had driven around 5,000 miles on the conventional dealer bulk oil without any measurable consumption. This was prior to the tune up which included a large dose of PEA fuel system cleaner times 3.

    Mobil 1 0w-40

To update: Switched my 3MZ-FE (Lexus Es330) over to Mobil 1 0W-40 about 4,000 miles ago. It has since the switch consumed about 1/2 quart of said oil. It’s important to note a few things: I performed a full tune up just prior -oem spark plugs -oem PVC valve -new air filter/cleaned...

    "Medallion ATF" for Toyota WS

Last time I checked the 750 series Aisin has a metal MESH screen filter. All of these also use WS.

Mobil 1 M-301 Fram cross reference?

Unfortunately it’s a remote mount in the bilge area so space is limited. If you have the room, a Wix 51773 is two inches longer, same base, same bypass.

Mobil 1 M-301 Fram cross reference?

Currently have a Mobil 1 M301 on my boat. I’d like to start using a Fram ultra synthetic. Anyone know the Fram equivalent? Thanks!

    Mobil 1 0w-40

Definitely not a DI motor. Just a regular old port injected Toyota V6

    Mobil 1 0w-40

Considering this in a unknown maintenance 3UZ-FE Lexus. Any issue with respect to SAPS and converter life? I figure from what I’ve seen this is a great oil to clean, is a lite 40wt and thinking impact to emissions is likely inconsequential. But wanted some reassurance. Thx

I'm new here, and after doing a quick sweep, there is no consensus-favorite oil to use?

I truly feel sorry for anyone who stumbles upon nates interactive auto. The internet is great for information, but just as great for misinformation…

Fluids replacement interval for maximum car life (more specifically manual gearbox/diff)

Who says 30k miles is overkill?? There really is no such thing as over maintenance regarding transmissions and especially sealed gear boxes with low sump capacity. Most people get hung up on “synthetic” which in many cases can be better (formulations dictate). But the most important thing is...

Chines made air filters. Am I overthinking?

The guy isn’t even using ASTM equipment but everyone thinks his “testing” is somehow valid...🙄 I wouldn’t trust anything he tests regarding automobiles ie motor oil(the guy uses a gear oil pressure testing rig)... he is entertaining, I’ll give him that. And I like his other tests. Automotive...

    4.7 Toyota V8 OCI recommendation

Recently decided to switch both of my vehicles over to Castrol Edge EP. That said I'm curious how far I should take my 4th gen 4runners OCI. Driven in Arizona. Weekly 45 min freeway commute in Phoenix, some city driving, no dirt roads or off-road ever. Fram Ultra oil filter. Not very interested...

Denso air filters manufactured in China?

That may be true, but the Japanese are still at the forefront of quality in manufacturing(all started with Dr. Edward's Deming). I need to compare the Toyota/Lexus OEM made in Japan I suppose. I realize China is capable of producing great products (there are tiers of quality just like any other...

Denso air filters manufactured in China?

Recently purchased a Denso air filter for a my 4th gen 4runner (4.7) and noticed they are made in China. I'm use to most Denso parts coming from Japan. See any issues with this? I'm tempted to go get a Japanese one from the dealer, but just want to verify quality of manufacturer. Thanks

Toyota WS ATF or Aisin WS ATF

Regardless the company isn't owned entirely by Toyota. I don't need a stock market lesson. But thanks

    Alternative for Lexus Toyota WS

You will like it. I've been using it, and honestly the shifting is crisp and quick as you would expect from a Lexus 6 speed. Keep us posted 👍🏻

Toyota WS ATF or Aisin WS ATF

It's not a argument per se. Toyota doesn't own Aisin lock stock and barrel, period. That's a fact. I agree that the frequency of service on any transmission is paramount as it pertains to it living a long life. That said, Toyota's do not need filter changes! The late model Aisin units utilize a...

    2016 Honda Pilot 0W-20 Spec

Why do people think they need to go up a viscosity grade (from what the engineers who actually designed the engine spec'd it for...) when the temp reaches 100 degree ambient? A 20wt used in a engine calling for it will not care if it's 50 degrees or 100F. Your thermostat keeps the engine at...
