I change the oil in my trail Jeep every few years. It mostly sits outside covered in the Winter. UOA's I completed way back were fine.
If it was put away clean, I would probably run it for a bit. Of course, if it bugs you, quality oil is still relatively inexpensive.
Sure, always a good idea after deep water crossings in case of intrusion via seals. I probably wouldn't replace for 18" though, as that is only about halfway up my tires.
<--- The rig on my left has been through some deep water. Maybe 4 feet +/-. Certainly over the tires and filled the tub.
It's a PITA, as you need to change the lube in everything afterward.
I would actually skip the TruFuel after watching Chicanic's youtube videos. Personally, I cut a lot of wood and make 1-2 gallon batches, but if the powersaw is put away for a while, I've had good luck with Harvest King canned fuel from Runnings, which has stabilizer and is FD rated.
Have him check the spark plugs for tightness.
My Son in Law's #3 blew out a couple of years ago and #2 loosened up last weekend, but I was able to save it.
I had to Timesert #3 and it's been good.
"Show your love for him by wearing a John Deere, Carhartt, Cardinals, Chiefs, or Dadeville t-shirt to the services."
I have to move some wood this afternoon and the first thing I do when I hop on the old Deere is say a prayer for that man's family.
Thank you for sharing.
My wife is a New Hampshire girl and that's probably where we'll end up. That or Maine.
We love ATV's, Sleds, Skiing, camping, dirt roads and outdoors. Just a few more years to go.......
Can't believe I missed this thread! I have about 25 powersaws and this season, the Ash has really been coming in due to the EAB, so I haven't been online much this summer. The tree service has been bringing me oak and beautiful cherry too. Some have been great for milling!
I would say my go-to...
Agree with my buds above. $1500 will buy a repair around here. The prices on all levels has been insane. I paid $10K for my '21 Brute Force 750 and they went up over a grand a few months later. I think they're $11.5 now.
If you can swing it, a new Rancher would be the way to go. Honda's aren't...
That's a great upgrade. Thanks for the write-up!
Brakes are probably the number one overlooked upgrade when lifting your Jeep.
<--- I run full-size GM parts on the Pig in my Sig. She stops on a dime.
It looks like 5 and 6 are either/or.
I have over 25 powersaws. What saw is this? Bucking spikes typically mount to the chassis and the clutch cover.
Even my Chinese clone saw has it's spike screwed into the front of the chassis on the oil tank.
