    Oil Question

Hey all, just wondering what type of synthetic to run. I've been using NAPA syn for 5k miles about every 6 months. Pretty typical driving, 12 miles to work and back, some road miles on weekends. I'm wondering if the NAPA syn is stout enough given the fact that last week I drove for a quarter...

    Napa synthetic OCI

I'd change every 1,000 with a FRAM Ultra if using a cheap synthetic. Amsoil or Royal Purple I'd leave for 2-3k. I assume you drag race on weekends to be worried, right?

Pennzoil Yellow Bottle Not What It Used To Be ??

Any name brand conventional is fine. If PYB makes you anxious, upgrade to a cheap synthetic or semisynthetic so you can sleep at night. I don't understand the overthinking of name brand oils for a "typical car."

Slow oil fill after oil change

You guys use funnels? Weak. Talented pourers don't spill.

What is with Dealers And Over Filling The Oil ?

Used to have the same issue. Dealer told me due to long intervals, people not knowing what a dipstick is, they bump it by a half quart because it could safely be overfilled by a whole quart.

0w20 vs 5w20 both synthetic for mazda skyactiv

https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-1/mobil-1-advanced-fuel-economy That's why I think you're imagining things. 0.2-2.3%. So in a car getting 40mpgs on the highway...0.08 to 0.92 mpg improvement. Given real life, barely noticeable. If you drive 12k per year, at best you'll save $1.50 per...

0w20 vs 5w20 both synthetic for mazda skyactiv

Weird. I run 5w30 in a 0w20 and see no difference. I keep track and divide miles by gallons at every fill. The Subaru computer is about 2mpgs generous every fill. Mazda must be weird.
