    P015B and P015D GM 5.3L

I did the smoke test with the engine off for 24hr+. Haven't thought of an actual voltage check, as both are reporting proper values in expected time intervals, from what I can see..

    P015B and P015D GM 5.3L

Thank you, guys! I indeed replaced O2 sensor with Delco one. clinebarger, thank you for confirmation that enrichment is intentional. However, the problem is actually reverse- slow from Lean to Rich. So yeah, it looks like it would only enrich for the testing purposes, as it doesn't do it on...

    P015B and P015D GM 5.3L

Thank you 54! Although my MAP does report seemingly correct manifold pressures (up to 13.5psi at hard accel, ~3.5 at idle and ~2 at hard decel), I will definitely look into testing it. Fuel economy reports correct 0L/100km at long deceleration at highway speed, so the fuel shuts off, again...

    P015B and P015D GM 5.3L

My 2014 5.3L 4WD Tahoe has developed a nasty habit of throwing P015B and P015D codes, O2 sensor Delayed Response – Lean to Rich, for sensor 1 on both banks. It happens on the first deceleration from highway speed when the coolant temperature is above 80C (176F). “D” comes on more often than “B”...

Are you charging batteries on your DD?

I swear I read somewhere that you shouldn't charge the battery if the ambient temperature is above 20C (heat kills). If true, perhaps this is why batteries go bad in the first place, it's quite warm under the hood? I have my onboard NOCO trickle charger (no temperature compensation) on timer to...

Skyactiv Intake Valve Deposits - Photos

Skyactiv engines have built-in catch can that drains back to the sump. EGR is managed by the valve timing, as indicated above.

Does powder coating weaken an alloy wheel?

I have bought four really old alloy wheels (2003) from Silverado to be used on my '14 Tahoe with winter tires. I had them sand-blasted and powder-coated, as they were in terrible shape. The shop had to do stripping and powder-coating twice, as they didn't like how they came out the first time. I...

They essentially have a built-in catch can with integrated PCV valve. It is maintenance-free, as everything sepatated/condensed is draining back to the sump. It appears to be effective, however owners that install secondary aftermarket catch cans report amounts of oil caught. I bet that being...

Catch Can on the Caravan (250km)

Here's my setup. Just after draining the first (black) can after a cold spell. Quite nothing in the second, transparent can. This survived -22C. Gotta see what's going on on the clean side of CV system yet.
