    Yellow cap Mobil 1

    Wal-Mart has Mobil 1 with a yellow cap, 5w-40. It's suppose to be a suv/diesel oil. Wouldn't this be better for motorcycles...like a 1985 Goldwing? TOJ

Took out my K&N and went back to stock!!

Whenpaper air filters came out, people no longer had to clean oil bath air cleaners....for me, I just change the paper air filter once a year, weather they need it or not. TOJ

    Plastic in throttle body

I had the air cleaner open on a I-H DT-466 turbo charged diesel once, left a Wyp-All ( kind of a paper towel rag.) I started the engine, the rag dissapeared momentairily, exiting the exhaust stack. About half of it burned up. Otherwise no harm. YOOPYJ

Deposit removal due to switching to Synthetic Motor Oil

I agree, Mobil 1 is cleaning my engine. I don't know the past history of my Jeep 4 cyl, but after changing to Mobil 1, I noticed black flakes on the dipstick. I changed to a Super Tech ST16 filter and the black flakes are gone. Also, There was oil on the air filter from some blow by, it is...

    Synthetics/Clean Engines

About 3,000 miles ago I change to Mobil 1 and a Fram PH16 oil filter. This is on a used jeep, I don't know wat was in the oil pan, or how long. After about 2500 miles and reading about the Fram filters, I changed the oil filter to a Super Tech from Wal-Mart. Now the oil is cleaning up, It's...

    Fram PH16 / Super Tech ST16

Start up pressure was about 10# higher on a warm engine, after 20 miles at 50-55 MPH, the pressure dropped to 45. I noticed at idle speed, it was about 35 psi/ I also think the Mobil1 is cleaning out the engine, as it is getting rather black at 3,000 miles. In my Blazer, with 135,000 miles it...

    GL-4 vs. GL-5?

Hi, Apparently Chrysler made a mistake in their literature, calling for GL-5 in their Jeep 5 speed manual transmissions. On Jeep related forums, most people say to go with GL-4 Redline MT-90 manual trans lube. I did, and it really does work better. Also I drained the old trans oil in to a milk...

    Fram PH16 / Super Tech ST16

Hi, New guy here, I bought a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with 77,000 miles on it. I changed the oil and filter. ( I don't know what oil was in it, the filter was a white one, don't know who made it.) I put in Mobil 1 synthetic10w-30 and a Fram PH16 filter. From the start the oil pressure was about 10#...
