    Power steering fluid in coolant

Got the job done on Sunday. The coolant in the radiator looked great for 13ish year old Dexcool, little to no sign of oil. However the coolant from the overflow tank had plenty of oil in it. Clinebarger appears to be correct that most of the oil floated to the top and yes the hose going to the...

    Power steering fluid in coolant

I just picked up some Blue Devil radiator flush & oil degreaser. Also have some simple green pro HD on the way tomorrow. I did read a lot about the dishwasher soap too. I'm hoping the oil isn't too bad of an issue, I estimate that only about 6oz has made into the cooling system. However I have...

    Power steering fluid in coolant

I'm looking into cleaners. Not sure what ones I should use. There seems to be the standard flush cleaners and then the greasers. I want to use something that is least aggressive as possible. Not sure if the standard flush cleaners will get the oil. The car is basically a garage queen :)

    Power steering fluid in coolant

Yes you read that correctly. On my 02 Firebird GM put a power steering cooler inline with the upper radiator hose. The seal on mine is apparently leaking and I've had to ad about 6 oz of power steering fluid. What's the best way to remove the power steering fluid from the coolant system? I'm...

    05 F150 Mcraft 5w20 blend

a couple of things. That oil sample was fresh when sent in. I just didn't post on here until recently. The sample was taken everything bone stock. No towing and probably very little hauling on that sample. Short trips....yes. My drive to work is 12 miles and takes about 25 to 30 minutes. On...

    02 TransAm LS1 engine

Another question....what's the best way to extract the oil through the dipstick? Does any parts stores carry something like this. I see that blackstone labs has a pump for $30 but I'm not going to pay that much. I guess I could hook a tube to a syringe.

    02 TransAm LS1 engine

save yourself the trip to the store and do yourself a favor and pull a oil sample once a year. The Amsoil will last 5 years the way you use it, why spend more money? Why work more? if you have a PC account with AMSOIL you can get a smple kit for $18 and your oil sample will come back good for...

    02 TransAm LS1 engine

hey pat. I've seen people on Ls1tech say that mobil 1 5w30 is too thin for the LS1. When looking at the PP 5w30 specs it looks to be just as thin. What's your thoughts? Thanks

The oil was in use 3 to 4 months. I average around 1k miles per month in the truck.

    02 TransAm LS1 engine

Guys I don't drive my 2002 TransAm a whole lot anymore and my question is regarding switching oils. For the last 2 years I've used Amsoil Euro 5w40 and changing it once per year (in the spring). I'm only putting about 500 to 1000 miles on the car per year. I live in Indiana so the car usually...

    02 TransAm (LS1) Amsoil Euro 5w40/ 544 miles

Here's another report for my 2002 WS6 TransAm. I don't drive the car much at all and there's not many miles on this sample but thought I would post it anyway. I'm thinking about changing to PP but I'll post up info and questions on that up in gas engine area. Seems Amsoil is probably over kill...

    06 Honda Accord / Mcraft 5w20 blend / 4k miles

Here's the UOA for the wifes car using same oil and filter and similar type of miles as my F150. It's interesting to see that the Honda is better on the oil than the F150. Blackstone Report: No problems showed up in this initial sample from your Honda engine. All wear read right around...

    05 F150 Mcraft 5w20 blend

Here's an UOA I had done awhile ago. I found it interesting that Ford now recommends 5k OCI but looks like my truck will not make that mark. Let me know what you think. Blackstone Report: No problems showed up in the initial sample from this engine. All wear read right around averages after...
