post your latest transmission lubricant change.

2016 Ford Focus SE with the MTX75 5 speed MT and 83,000 Mi. - 2.1 quarts of Motorcraft XT-11-QDC (Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid) Seems odd to use the DTC fluid in a 5 speed, but it’s what’s spec’d by Ford and listed in the owners manual and the Focus is still under warranty. I may try...

    Rotella T6 5w-40 - Jeep 4.0 ZJ 253,000 miles

Thanks for the reassuring input. No noticable oil consumpion at 3,000 or 5,000 mile intervals after I replaced the valve stem seals and fixed an oil leak at the oil filter housing.

    Rotella T6 5w-40 - Jeep 4.0 ZJ 253,000 miles

Here is the Blackstone report for my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 engine with 42RE A/T with 253,000 miles at the time the sample was taken. I was using a Motorcraft FL-1A filter and a A/C Delco stock paper air filter. This is for 3,000 miles with around 150 miles of those being off road in dusty...

Cracked Transmission Housing Around Cooler Fitting

Glad to report everything went to plan and no leaks so far. I had removed some of the JB weld around the fitting and exposed the front face of the crack so I could make sure it wasn't weeping at all. The locktite bubbled a little on the crack initially when it was idling in neutral, but after...

Do any experienced Machinists have any pointers for tapping into an Aluminum transmission housing? I have a can of CRC cutting oil, any other suggestions?
