Down side of partial oil changes?

If you don't want to do it yourself, why not bring it in? Like Yoda said, " there is no try, just do! " When it comes to oil, it's all or nothing.

    Dexos oil vs NON Dexos

Castrol EDGE High Mileage is the only H.M. oil that is still DEXOS-licensed that I know of.

Valvoline Synthetic High Mileage not Dexos?

Just noticed that my latest Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage oil is no longer Dexos as per label. It was last time but no longer I guess. Not a big deal to me but was just wondering if anyone else noticed this change.

Thoughts on Lucas X-TRA and RED N Tacky greases (or any other brands?) for use on a motorcycle pull behind trailer wheel bearings? Small trailer with 12" wheels. New to trailers so any help is appreciated.

Highest ZDDP Conventional Oil for 2020

An important question to ask is how many miles between oil changes. Zinc gets used up with miles driven. A good High Mileage oil might be fine in a street-driven Flat Tappet engine for 1000 miles/1 year between oil changes. Drive more miles, though, and more Zinc may be required.

    1 Quart Oil Storage

I would find an oil I like in one of the 6 Qt. boxes that seem to be everywhere. Sam's puts Mobil1 on sale; $30 for 6 Qts.

    Valvoline maxlife synthetic blend

I've been using Maxlife 10W-30 in my Ram truck for at least 15 years. Engine has about 175,000 miles and still strong. Great oil at a great price. A lot of good H.M. oils out there, though.

    Why 10w30?

I would say it has to do with keeping older vehicles on the road as well. 10W-30 was the recommended oil viscosity for my '64 GTO, though I run 10W-40 in it; which can be another discussion entirely.

New Castrol oil for the classics! "Castrol GTX Classic" 20W-50

How's the current Zinc content of today's Rotella 15W-40?

    Synthetic brand switch issues?

Why switch? The oil change specials at Advance Auto are great prices with a great filter of choice. Also, Sam's has 6 qts. of Mobil1 on sale for $27.98. Saving money is great except when it causes you to ask questions.
