New GM engine oil, use it or void your warranty...

What happened to mr. stickler for 505.01 and anything else will blow up your fancypants PD cam, and look at these pics under my VC and I will argue with you alll day about how 505.01 is magical oil, actual magic.

    Best coolant for 2005 wrangler

Ok, I can dig that. Will the mopar coolant be labeled as such (g-05) or under another name?

    Best coolant for 2005 wrangler

...Its a 4cylinder, 2.4 like the PT cruiser. What is the best coolant I can buy, readily available at any auto parts store? I dont think I have seen G-05 for a long long time anywhere around here..... Not sure how this vehicle likes silicates or phosphates or however all that stuff works. Thanks!

    Mobil 1 TDT 5W-40 (Cl-4) - Into the Lincoln 4.6

One of the best OTC oils you can find IMO. I believe the old stuff like you have was repackaged delvac, but the newer CI4+ and CJ4 stuff was similar, but not the same. Someone correct if I am wrong. Dont worry about using it in the cold. My best UOA ever came with this stuff in the dead of a...

Is 7600 miles on a 5.9 really too many?

No interest in trying a synthetic like mobil TDT 5w40 and running it out to 10k?

    Sludge and Oil Pressure

Remember that sometimes too much oil pressure could mean a restriction (i think, depending on where the sensor is).

Oil for 2.4L chrysler motor in a jeep

05 brought the benz 6-speed manual even with the 2.4. I do suppose the much larger 30 or 31 inch tires really kill the 6th gear performance, as I believe 6th would be ok on the hwy with AC off and top on. I was kicking around the idea of using mobil 1 turbodiesel truck 5w-40 since it has done...

Oil for 2.4L chrysler motor in a jeep

Right? It has enough power to get around town, but the hwy power isnt good.. 6th gear is virtually useless.

Oil for 2.4L chrysler motor in a jeep

Yes, i believe its the same as the PT cruiser, the "EDZ". Spartuss, they did away with the 2.5 in 2002 or so. I believe MY03 got the 2.4 DOHC motors. FWIW, I think my owners manual and oil cap says 5w30. I know I am supposed to use 5w30, wanted to know if one might work better than another...

Oil for 2.4L chrysler motor in a jeep

I have a 2005 wrangler, with a 2.4L Chrysler "world engine". I just bought the car, and im ready to switch to synth and longer OCI's. Anyone have experience with this motor? I have used M1 in the past, but some of the newer UOA's dont look too hot. Would mobil 1 turbodiesel truck work well...

How abusive to the clutch is this?

Haha happened to me once in an Lt4 vette I used to have at the bloomington gold cruise, there was a line of cars lined up doing burnouts one after another in a line, I got up there, revved it high, dropped the clutch and SMOKE! But no tire spinning... at all. Clutch still worked fine after that...
