Motorcycles - How dangerous are they?

I've nearly been rearended by a goober on a bike. He must have thought he could do like in video games and tailgate someone and then whip it around the car. Idiot.

    NASCAR and Japanese brands

The only problems I have with rice burners is that although they made be made here, the profits go back to Japan. That, and the parts are outrageously priced. We had a '92 diamante and one brake caliper for the rear cost $95.

Will engine oil ever become lifetime fill?

The '78 Fairmont I had was a definite junkmobile. The valve cover gasket turned out to have been eroded away by time and poor maintenance (I stupidly bought the junker used before I knew what to look for in a car)so bad that in the space of 25 miles from where I bought it to home it leaked out 3...

    Picking oil for bottle?

Very true. The only reason I use Havoline now is based on what BITOG has posted.

    New car jacking scam.

I'd use the aft torpedos if they came from behind.

Are tire & dash protectants good or bad?

I got slack on wiping the dash with protectant and now have a lovely crack about five inches long up by the windshield.

If you could choose your filter style ...

The placement of my cavalier's filter is agreeably stupid. At the back of the block tucked under the AC. My tempo had the best location right at the front and could be reached with no effort or mess. My '80 malibu had it straight down underneath.

    Window Air Conditioners

I never did like Consumer Reports so I stopped reading stuff they had to say years ago. We have a Haier tiny ac and so far it has done ok. putting it in was a two day job as our place doesn't have proper window sills. Then again, what trailer does?

    BUGS!

I bought a spray bottle of Turtle wax's Bug and Tar remover, and though it's similar to the stuff in the pour cans, it works ok. Though for bugs only I like SPLATT One Minute Bug Remover. If it is even made any more.

    Children Playing in Streets

Big time agreement here. Our park there's not much of roadways, yet you see them riding in the middle of them. When they DO play over in the grassy areas, it's always near the car park slots.

    stp, bosch, and purolator filters...

I have STP on both my cars ('00 and '03) and there isn't a problem. If I had any money and could order from fleet filter I would to try them out.

    Duralast OK?

I'll have to look that up next time I go to the Zone.

High mile engines... whose got them?

97,000 on a '00 cavalier bought it with 5 miles on the clock. went through 3 other brands of oil and switched to Havoline about soon after reading BITOG.

Anyone loyal to one brand of oil?

I started with Pennzoil, then Valvoline, Castrol, back to Valvoline, onto Mobil clean, then switched to Havoline after reading BITOG.

    Be careful with tire dressings!

I have Black Magic foam. I still would like to get mudflaps for the impala, but I have not had any problem with slinging compounds, as like mentioned above I let the tires sit. When I used to use Water-All oops, Armor-All;) I would take the tire swipers and even out the runoff. After seeing the...
