    Valvoline Restore & Protect

I got a new to me 1987 Toyota MR2 in October of 23, I've done a ton to its lubrication system. It had a really sad life of unknown length oil changes, with what I can gather, not the best quality oil. As part of the entire regimen I've been self prescribing, I just switched out to Restore...

    MoS2 for gears

I have a new to me, since October of last year, 1987 Toyota MR2 with the C52 5spd, with about 111k on the clock. In October I drained a really old, black stew of gear oil from the C52, and filled back up with Redline MT90 - I was surprised to find the drain plug didn't have a magnet. Last...

I was robbed! (Also 2019 Ranger Oil Considerations)

So i'm a guy who keeps oil in stock with my favorite filters. For my 2019 Ranger I was using RGT in 5w30. At my last oil change I went into my oil cabinet for and lo-and behold one of my buddies who was at my shop, used my RGT and didn't replace it! While frustrating I was also stocked in M1...

    Amsoil SSO 5w50

Looking for more information about this oil, seems like a great choice for a all around performer, I'm thinking about using this in my daily, that I also would like to track in the nicer months. NOACK at 6.1 Pour Point at -48 C \ -54 F Viscosity Index 185 Any thoughts? I don't see a lot of...

    Carbon-cleaning Valvoline Premium Restore

I hate to be that guy but what about using this as a additive booster with another oil? Could you\we substitute 1 quart of your regular fill for this in a passenger car and achieve appreciable results? Or should we leave well enough alone?

    Rockauto horrible customer service

I had a bad experience only once, about 8 years ago. Ordered an Alternator for a specific application, long story short they sent me an alternator for a FWD version of the same motor, they didn't believe me. I had to take photos of the right alternator off the car that was dead, and the wrong...

New Subaru OCI Manual vs. Dealer

For what its worth, on brand new engines from Subaru i've always subscribed to the 1k oil change. Then run it to 5k (So 4k later) and change again. From the 5k point, go with a 6-7.k oil change on full synthetic and never look back.

    SR20DET Oil Recommendation

Hey Guys, First off I read all the threads on this site regarding oil recommendations for users that posted regarding the SR20DET and DE. My engine is pretty heavily modified and dynoed at around 350 whp, with a Tomei Turbo. Long story short, living in southern PA, this car will be driven...

    DONE with Rockauto

Worst experience with RockAuto was for a 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS (AE86) alternator. Ordered the part, Part arrives and the bolt holes are slightly different. I call them up thinking a simple return will work, and its about three hours, and five emails of pictures and phone calls. I had to get...

    New struts - Softer ride?

This is one of those touchy subjects where I tell people that sometimes its not all in the shock absorber. If you really like the car, want to keep it for another 120k, you might consider a master bushing kit, and shocks. IMHO, those two items make the largest and most noticeable impact when...

Toyota dealer ship oil in my new Pathfinder

If you are super duper worried, get a UOA, before you take it in to drain it, get a pump and remove some from the sump. Send it off and get UOA's done. The price of a UOA would be less the price of a full synthetic oil and filter change.
