The fact I will never use 0w20 VW508 again has nothing to do with "thin" aka low viscosity. It has to do with the fact the HTHS is too low and POSSIBLY the cause of the EA839 engine eating cam gears. I will only run a higher HTHS VW504 oil in a 0w30 viscosity.
I care less about viscosity and...
My Audi S5 requires 508 and I ran it twice. After running 504 0w30 and hearing the engine difference as well as a cleaner UOA, I will never ever use 508 again. It is really trash oil for fuel economy.
Using 504 WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY.... 20 years at a dealership and never saw an oil spec...
I am going to assume you never owned a SPA volvo. If you have it set to 68f, it will not rush to cool the car down like it would if you set it to 60f. It will literally make the air 68f and then start blowing it slowly if set to auto. Of course you can manually bump the fan speed up but then...
Depending on where you live, you have the heat on to drive in to work in the morning and when you come out in the afternoon with the sun beating down, you need the AC which takes forever to adjust during boot up. Just setting the car at 68f was never an option for me as the car needed to cool or...
In my 20 years as a tech, I used maxlife and BG universal which I am pretty sure come from the same factory.
For my personal 2024 Audi S5, I will be putting Ravenol 8HP in the transmission and Ravenol in the diffs.
The Holden flag takes me back to 2012-2014 when I was tech in Australia. I was technically their imported Volvo tech but the amount of Holdens needing work kept me busy working on the GM junk.
I bought quick jack the week I left the dealership and love using them for car detailing and tire...
I think you think I am disagreeing with you on something when I am really just adding nuance. Europe does have great public transport but the fuel costs will be passed on soon enough is what I was trying to say. I remember my electrical bill in Germany in 2023 was stupid high due to Ukraine.
I...
I live in a fairly large city in Bavaria where the DB trains and busses are 90% diesel. Plus the ICE trains that travel out of Germany are diesel. The Germans are currently making electrical train systems but its not a large portion yet and there are a handful of EV busses around too.
You are...
Europe's public transport is mostly diesel, at least where I am in Germany, so I can't imagine the huge cost increases that will be transferred to the tax payers and/or riders. Especially since diesel rose the fastest and highest in cost here. Germany's economy has already been trash for the...
Iran has stated that ships from China, Russia, India, Paki, Iraq, and Bangladesh can pass through safely. Luckily its mostly Europe, Asia, and Australia that are dependent on the straight more than America. Maybe it will be a wake up call for them.
The most IMPORTANT reason for brake fluid flushes is because the fluid absorbs moisture and can cause corrosion in the system. I dont think "cracking the bleeders" was ever an option in my Volvo or ASE tests.
