    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

Oh, I get that. It just seems odd to me that they would offer lifetime warranty to their Theta 2.4 costumers, but only one time engine replacement to their Nu 1.8 costumers when both engines have similar flaws.

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

This is just a "spare" vehicle that I meticulously cared for since day one. I think I'll keep her... I'm just surprised that they don't offer any warranty on a new engine... Unlike the lifetime warranty they offer for some of their troublesome Theta 2.4 engines.

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

Update! Two months later, I got the car back this morning. New engine in and car is running well. Replaced were the two heater core hoses, three radiator hoses and the belt (all easily accessible from under the hood btw). The total for the "kit" was $215 - far cry from the $499 they initially...

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

Mainia.... That's what I'm taliking about sir! I don't understand why is it so difficult for some ppl to understand that. Also, I read your story before, and how they replaced your $8-9 Fram ultra with a $4 Hyundai (which is appropriate, but funny that you mentioned that lol)

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

So, I went there today to ask about a list of items of the "discounted kit for $499.99". Guess what! There's no kit. Stealership says "there's no list. It's not a kit with a part #. We'll let you know what we ordered when we order the parts". i asked if any labor is included in the $499. No one...

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

^^^^ What you're missing is that the car was under factory warranty. This is the USA, and they have to honor it. Hyundai set the powertrain warranty at 10 years, not me! The dealer isn't offering me jack. Hyundai approved the warranty work. The dealer has to do it. At a loss, I guess. I don't...

    Hyundai Engine warranty approved, but...

Hi folks, need some help here. I've got a '13 Elantra (Nu 1.8 MPI engine) meticulously maintained by me (original owner). Has had piston slap on cold starts for the last couple of years. Took it in a month ago, on the last day of powertrain warranty. Dealer said it will cost me US $190 to...

How to ensure shop did/would do work

I know I sound paranoid, but this is reality! A decade ago, I had no time to do brake fluid flush, so I paid a local Firestone to do it. Do you think they did it? NO! I drove the car home, pulled one wheel off to find out that the bleeder valves were never touched. Drove back to speak with the...

How to ensure shop did/would do work

Thx for all the help. I've thought of all the options above, and more. Plugs will be nearly impossible to mark, if I could get to them, I'd just change them myself. These plugs are commonly used on most superbikes, so I'm sure mechanics have used ones laying around from replacing them on their...

How to ensure shop did/would do work

Hi fellas, need some help resolving a dilemma I got. I'm overdue on sparkplugs on my '16 Zx14R, and I'm not willing to take on to the task myself as they're major pain to get to on this particular bike. I don't mind paying a shop to do it, but how do I ensure that they would in fact do the...

2013 Versa 6k miles, new engine!!

The 1.6 in your Versa is not a Nissan or Renault engine. It's the HR16DE, made by this company: www.aichikikai.co.jp/en/ check them out. They also make the problematic 6MT found in all 350Z/G35/G37 models (that has beem redesigned 9 times or so), the 6MT found in the new Sentra, and even the...

Why NOT to buy a Jetta TDI ?

since you want us to talk you out of it... I was seriously considering one. Visited the VW TDI forums and I read that some have issues with the high pressure common rail pump? (not sure if I said this right). Failures are a costly fix. VW blamed them on bad diesel, owners say it is design...

    Kuhmo Solus kr21?

This tires are GARBAGE! Had good luck with KH16's on my '97 altima, so I bought the KR21s for my wifes altima, and they simply stunk! Awful wet/snow traction. One rear tire developed a bubble on the side wall, like an impact break, but wife swears never hit anything. Fronts vibrated badly (with...
