I have a odd grease application thats part of the rear end of a old British car (rear hub of TVR Vixen) Thing is that is hard to take apart and i do not know what grease is in there now.
Now if you did not know what was previously used what kind of grease would you put in there knowing that...
I have a Fiesta ST (great car and i love it). you should go over to Fiestast.org they have a lot of good advice on what to do to a new motor to break it in. On my car i did a oil change with the stock oil and filter at 200 miles and again at 2500 miles. at 6k i will move over to Pennzoil Ultra 5w20.
So i did one more Change with normal Motorcraft semi synthetic today (wall-mart for $17 and $4 for a motorcraft filter). and will then move to Pennzoil Ultra at 6k. THe car has been running STRONG and not burning a drop of oil, the oil that came out of the motor still had the fresh amber color...
Fords do not use break in oil or additives in the oil. On a new motor i wanted to get the metal bits out ASAP. In fact i cut open the orignal filter and saw all sorts of flakes, some black/silver colored but many copper colored. I am not sure if i should do one more change with Motorcraft semi...
I have a brand new Ford Fiesta ST, and it came with MotorCraft semi Synthetic 5w20 from the factory. I now have 2500 miles on the car and am thinking about changing to Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20. Is it to early with 2500 miles? Should i wait a bit longer? By the way i did do an oil change at 200 miles...
