Pull barrel from stock, clean barrel with brake cleaner, plug nipple and stand upright, fill barrel with evapo-rust (careful not to get on bluing as it will remove), soak for 24 hours, clean with soap and water and repeat if necessary. Dry and oil.

Detach fuel line from carburetor and drain into a container. Then you know if it's the fuel line/filter or the carb. Some fuel tanks have a fine mesh screen in the tank on the fuel fitting.

I use the OLM, but don't go over 6,500. I use Mobil 1 5W30 extented because I get it at a good price at rebate time. You should stay with DexosG2 or G3 rated oils.

One of the best barrel cleaning mixture is 75% shooter choice and 25% Kroil. Has worked well for benchrest shooter for years.

I think Mobil 1 0W40 would be better for area. Air cooled engines need a little heavier oil because of higher oil temperatures. The 0W is great for winter.
