This is interesting, the Napa Gold filter I looked at had a black Nitrile Anti-drain back valve and not the tan/red color silicone valve? Did Napa start to cut corners on this part? I also looked at the Bosch filters at Walmart and the Anti-drainback valve on these looked tan/red like silicone.
That is a good price, is the quality of this filter way better than their standard filter? From what I have read years ago on this site, their standard filters are not good. Is the XG16 as good or better than the Napa Gold 1452?
My conclusion that the Napa Gold was best came from hours of reading on this site. I found it interesting how much time I spent trying to figure out what filter was good. lol
From what I have found the Napa Gold 1452 is the best filter for this little diesel tractor. Is the WIX 51452, or Mobile M1-204 better? Or Fleetguard or Baldwin? There is room for a longer than standard filter, and I don't know if there is any benefit going with one...
I still like the old bottles better, but at $9.87 on sale for the 5 quart, who cares, it's what inside the bottle that matters.
Since this site has praised it and Chevron Supreme since who knows when, that's all I ever change in my Camry and Titan.
Do we know the gold GC is as good as the green? I was all excited about going out and getting the green, but it is going to be hard to find it appears.
Just when I found the ideal oil for my Titan.

I just stopped by a Autozone and looked at a bottle of 0W-30 GC Imported from Germany with the numbers on the bottom of the bottle: MO5122XXX, was this the green stuff?
The background on the black lettering of 0W-30 was red? I read that after MO501XXX it is Gold Castrol but it looked like it...
This reminds me of the Jimmy Stewart Movie "It's a Wonderful Life" There's a run on GC but the stores are out!
I hope that isn't the case, I plan on going out to find some?
Bedford TX, did you give up on the 4X4 F150 and go to the Toyota? I just sold a 98' F150 with only 72,900 miles on it. I won't miss the gas mileage compared to my Camry. Was running 10w-30 Havoline in both, but plan on going to M1 10w-30 in the Camry next change.
I'm in Houston and have a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder '03 Camry and was wondering if M1 10w-30 would be better than 5w-30 also, even though the car calls for 5w-30? From what I read here M1 10w-30 is the one to go with.
I too have read about the sludge V6 and glad I avoided it. Of course if you are on...
I have only put 1,350 miles on this oil/filter change in 6 months, is it safe to go a year, or is sulphuric acid developing and doing damage???
Weekend driver only.
Havoline 10w-30
Napa Gold filter
If still in warranty stick with what Ford recommends. As for me I go with Chevron Supreme 10W-30. It is what I use in my 98' F150 5.4L and in my 2003 Camry with a 2.4L 4 cylinder. For that matter Havoline is just as good in the same weight.
