Ford requested the filter back for inspection, so no interior pics to come. However it is documented by the dealership (which I got copies of the documentation, and still have the pics).

I can see why with quality like this......

It's been my experience that anything made by man is subject to fail at anytime, even new straight out the box.

Actually the media was torn completely from the top on that one side and half down the middle and no center support tube was present. A tech brought out an OEM filter he just did on another new F150 and it had a center support tube. This filter was a clear defect and it failed.

Just got back from the dealership. They opened a ticket up and documented everything. They're submitting the filter to Ford.

That's what I'm gonna do.

This was at 4,897 miles. I'm wondering if this filter was running in bypass the entire time after this happened.......

No, OEM filter from the factory.

No interior cage of any kind, just media material that collapsed in on itself. Here's some better pictures.

Guys, just did my 1st oil change on my 2020 F150 3.5 EcoBoost. Upon inspecting the OEM filter, one entire side of the media has completely collapsed into the middle of the filter. I'm gonna cut it open tomorrow at work, but to say I'm pissed right now is an understatement. Here's some pics...

I didn't know that, who makes them ?......I guess then it's kinda like GM and Chevy are made by the same corporation, but people still prefer one to the other. 🤷‍♂️

The FL-500S. I just wanted to go with a full synthetic media and superior filtering vs the standard 500s. After all the research, I've realized it came down to either the Fram Ultra or something just as good with great reviews, so y'all knowing the reason I don't prefer Fram, I chose the RP. Can...
