I'm headed to pick up some more PP 10W-30 at AAP. Five quarts comes with a free CQ filter until the 19th. If I order online, I can get a CQ EP and a jug of oil for $20.
This is definitely true at the Toyota dealers near me. I think it’s $80 for the 4Runner. Ram, on the other hand, wanted $145 to change the oil in my Hemi truck. My buddy’s Cummins was over $500 for a full compliment of fuel and oil filters, oil, and a rotate and balance.
This filter was on the hydrostatic drive of my walk behind for 215 hours of service over the course of eight years. It looks fine. Pleats were solid and tolerated quite a bit of pushing and pulling with seemingly no damage. Filter had no ADBV. Base gasket was firmly adhered to the reservoir.
There's a glut of CQPs coming through that are made in Malaysia. They look different from the Chinese and Vietnamese. PGI just seems to rotate factories. The filter you've posted looks great to me.
M1 ESP 0W-30 is now showing as $31.97 for me.
One of the TLE guys was out picking some oil for a customer. He remarked that they were being told this wasn’t the last price increase. Not sure if he meant off the shelf, or for their oil change service.
Just FYI…..you *should* be able to get a free CQP filter through the 19th as well. This has been posted elsewhere, buried fairly deep in another thread.
I emailed Amsoil tech support last year, and they told me a shelf life of 5 years sealed, and two years opened. Same as Mobil. This was for the SS 0W-40. I'm looking at the email right now.
Valvoline says there is no shelf life when "properly stored," but that agitation may be necessary...
This.
You can also get the Pennzoil Platinum 5W-40 Euro on the filter deal. Now that Wally has raised the price on the Quaker State Euro 5w40, I’ll take the points and the free filter from AAP. They wouldn’t honor the $10 rebate on mine as it can’t be combined with any other offers.
