Yes and that is what I don't want to do and why I researched. Not to belabor this issue and I think I am satisfied with my research results.
This Antifreeze Coolant Concentrate Genuine Volvo 32339856 - 124604 is OEM and from IPD website. "Everything IPD supplies under the "Genuine Volvo"...
The only reason I've been over thinking is because since buying the car, used with 19,000 miles on it, I've had to top off the reservoir from time to time. I was a little ignorant about the coolant debacle of colors and thinking maybe I bought the wrong blue and have been topping off with the...
Spent some time today researching this color coded coolant issue and visiting another post on bobistheoilguy dated Feb 14th 2024 where the person said "Car makers really turned coolant selection into a circus,". I agree, the entire color coded coolant is a mess. The closest I can get to...
Color in reservoir is blue. The purchase sticker is still on the gallon of pre-mis and there is hardly any out of it. I bought it during yeah the bad time when we were in the depth of marrow transplant. So I probably was living in a hospital setting or busy going back and forth preparing for...
From the first day of ownership of our car (bought used with 19,000 miles on it) the coolant has always been blue. From the beginning the service manager said, "yes these cars will use coolant and reservoir will show such use"). So I've always used blue coolant. Here's the odd part.
When I...
Thanks for your post. I wasn't looking to find any way to find them liable or prove that there was any tort in this matter. I was just venting a bit and wanted to see if I was off base with expecting new oil, not used oil. Now I get where you were coming from on this issue.
I 100% agree...
For the bickering :) discussions we've been doing kudos on that car. Nice looking and like the color.
Reading your "What the technician did: He used an abrasive power wheel to clean the mating surfaces of the block and sump. " is why I have no idea what their drip pan looked like was it...
But you are correct, the word "IF" is a big word. Why even leave it to an owner to wonder? Because I've been a DIY for most of my life I have a good amount of car guys that did/do the same. I have yet to find one that would be ok with a dealer replacing used oil. One or two said, maybe -...
You'll need to look that up about your Volvo. The problem existed for several years and even if your 2014 fell within those years, the fix would be on you. Cost quoted in forums I've seen range from $5,500 to $10,000 range.
Hm? Can I ask why you drain your coolant and then put it back in? The only time I drain coolant is to exchange with new or replacing something like thermo? Replacing a thermo, call me foolish but I replace with fresh coolant, not the old coolant.
Here's another issue I just thought of...
You've hit the nail on the head. My fault, I fell for the looks of the car and my mistake for purchasing it. My wife has bad peripheral neuropathy in both legs, hard time walking and to her, the pain produced from the low-profile tires are like riding on bricks.
There was some consternation about who was going to pay. I was still within warranty and yep - Volvo USA paid for the test. If I was out of extended warranty, I would have paid.
I was supposed to have received a notice of the extended warranty, but I never received one. The previous owner...
