What Does Honda VCM Engagement and Running "Feel Like"?

Sounds like a completely different map, mine wont engage anywhere near that speed. Ridgeline isnt awful aero for a truck but it's better than many trucks. It's a lot like a pilot in that year in the front. You can feel the motor mount transition in every VCM 3 vehicle I've driven. I drive...

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

I was just going to clear it out when it arrived - no doubt at the end of this OCI It'll pop. Since the 2017 MM doesn't actually track time, but only miles, this part of it is off the factory spec by a year and half already, but a few K under the miles. The MM also doesn't take into...

Mercruiser I/O 4.3 V6 - Spark Plug contact with pistons

Fun eh? Yup throw in a bulky manifold an extra accessory pinching off access further, then toss in something sharp like an hose clamp end here and there for snicks - and you got a marine engine. There is no guide for this Im aware of after lifetime of being around this kind of thing -...

Mercruiser I/O 4.3 V6 - Spark Plug contact with pistons

Take a look with a borescope and do a leak down.

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

That'd be safe. Just took mine out at 101 and they were beautiful - should have taken picts but I was preoccupied with the being under the valve covers. I was on the hunt for oil fouling like Jeffs pict but didnt see it. As it was I was over on time but under on miles to get the belt...

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

Thanks. So 2017 was the "earth dreams" year for the Ridgeline and Odyssey. The front 3 are easy to reach, so often people stretch out the back ones. Id guess the bad coils are VCM coils on the ugly plugs? None of the cylinder deactivation schemes are without issues, and VCM 3 is an...

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

Not at all an odyssey expert so likely missed that. Is the 2016 ody an "earth dreams" v6?

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

    I thought 2016 was VCM 3 - maybe not.

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

I know about VCM tuners. I do not believe that SN oil is enough to keep carbon from forming in the ring lands if you dont muzzle the VCM. That said, I starting running HPL at 50K and found carbon liberation that shouldn't have existed. It's been smooth sailing so far for me. This van is...

    Honda V6 VCM, again.

Given I have a nearly identical VCM 3 engine and how clean mine were at 101K, I'd have to ask a bunch more questions.

    Oil recommendations-SBC 383

No doubt she pulls hard. Enjoy, it should give you plenty of miles along with oodles of power. Its cammed a little hotter than I normally would on my own mills. The 3400 start is the tell I'm looking at. I try to get my rigs to stabilize at 3K - but thats me. Are you sporting a 3 speed auto?

Looks nice. Have a copy of the dyno run? I'm curious to look at the low side of the curve. Thanks Matt. If it were mine I'd run what I ran my 500/500 406 on - M1 OW-40. Preferably the euro formulation.
