Out of Spec Reviews: EV “10% Challenge”

It's cool that you get it broken out for you - some readouts will simply give a % to HVAC. Going to spend some time absorbing that site. I get the sense it's off a bit in some places from what I see from Out of Spec and Bjorn, but thats just cursory. Ive only started checking it out, It isnt...

Out of Spec Reviews: EV “10% Challenge”

That site is interesting. Where does it collect its data from? It's got interesting variability sliders on it for things like HVAC Kwh. I'm unsure how one would estimate that beforehand, but it's cool no doubt. I'm guessing it assumes all cars only charge to the max capability of the car...

Out of Spec Reviews: EV “10% Challenge”

The battery size, along with efficiency seems to matter more than merely possessing 800 volt architecture. This is why Teslas very efficient 400V cars typically deliver faster roadtrip times than the 800 V Hyundais using similar sized batteries. Agreed on the gravity being the best of...

I don't think I can go back to gas vehicle due to fuel costs

Pretty much. Yet so many people make declarative statements without showing their math.

What is your best MPG ever on a road trip?

4445LB AWD, 278HP mid sized pick up truck with a 5000LB tow rating. Between 65 and 70 the whole way. I was picking up a used spotting scope bought from craigslist that morning and limited myself to a max of 4 over. Not econo/penalty box mileage, but really solid for a vehicle with this...

Oil change interval for heavy use Predator 5000 inverter generator

    It's 150 hours on a 20KW generator. Not small it's a 1000 on natural gas.

Ford Discontinues the 2.7 Ecoboost Engine

Yeah it didnt seem to be an issue in as far as I could see either, but it sure isn't long term "feel good" design in any way shape for form.

Ford Discontinues the 2.7 Ecoboost Engine

Valve deposits can be largely mitigated by adjusting the injector location and spray pattern. Honda designed their setup to be able to wash the valves down from time to time, Id imagine Ford can mitigate the issue much the same way.

Is BITOG an oil site or a car site

Cars and oil are intertwined. BITOG is unique place for guys that both observe and capture data using the findings to challenge or affirm the automotive status quo on intervals and formulations. The same guys that have data driven approaches to this topic often provide valuable insight and...
