I like the little 8.4L Viper V10's. Here's the one in my sig pict and 30ft boat thats been marinized by Ilmor. It makes 700 Hp and 650 Lb Ft. This is what 15K of custom made CMI marine headers look like.

Thanks. They are beauts for sure. It's a top of the line manifold system. I could make more HP with tube headers, but at 3X the cost and less than half the life, I'll compromise there.

They were unbelievable dogs stock. A 355 in the back and a joe mondello top end kit really woke them up. Shop took 2 hours to do the rear and a buddy and I did the heads cam carb on a saturday afternoon. took it from like 180 Hp to 400. Sold it to a buddy for 5K in 90. Here it is today...

9.6 (It's got Brodix heads painted black.) In auto form it made 900 HP. In marine form it makes 800Lb FT This mill is a giant kitten with heart of lion. It will make grown men giggle for days, and women pee their pants. Its still being rigged here so looks a mess, but it's all tidy now.

This is why I mention monitoring, or maybe a better word is reporting. If we accept monitoring/reporting then we can index with miles and weight. If we cant accept reporting then the best way becomes an average mileage # and a weight index.

I'm on the Makita platform fairly big time. I agree HPT is great as well. Im going to Royal Home Center for Makita specifically on this trip. I dont think there are many Japanese Makita products I dont already know about though.
