    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

Thanks. Dual vendor solutions is where most problems seem to arise in this field. I'm curious as well, but not at all concerned.

Quality Control - Domestic vs Japan

service type jobs, retail, food, transportation, clerks, interactions are totally different. They want to be there doing what they are doing, and they want you to enjoy whatever it is they are doing for you. People in the service business here often feel trapped in low wage and their...

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

Curious. Was it a VFD driving an otherwise fixed speed pump? Was it a two manufacturer solution or a single solution?

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

I wanted to update post 3. I've seen the pumps performance expressed several different ways. As a percentage - I got 65-100% from another forums thread on the pump. Grundfos data shows the pump operates from 3000 RPM to 10,700. They make no distinction about what RPM incrementation is. I'd...

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

I like the cycle stop valve and employ one elsewhere in my irrigation system. It doesn't give me soft start, the wider voltage range, nor the unlimited pump starts. They are also subjected to impact from sand, requiring a more expensive version if you want protection from sticking. Ill often...

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

Not at all worried about it. My exact combo has been replicated at two other employees houses. Kohler 20K / Grundfos SQE The pump has a wider range of operable voltage than any other well pump I could find. Which pump and controller were you working with when you measured the THD?

It was something like 2K with the controller. This version requires the controller from what I can derive.

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

Similar. The pump can ramp from 65% to 100%. It's a soft start pump so it takes 3 seconds to ramp from a stop so running it off a generator is easier. Ive got a whole new filtration system to put in as well on stop 2 here.

    Variable Frequency Well Pump Upgrade

The short - awesome upgrade from a single stage 40/60Lb pressure switch and an 80 gallon pressure tank to a Grundfos SQ series and tiny tank. It gives the home city level performance. The prior owner flat out lied to me about what was in the ground and when it went in. This stuff was put in...

    EVs on Long Road Trips

Is it even 35 minutes more for the EV when you include the pre and post trip fill up the ice car ? The EV allows for every outbound trip to be full and for the car to arrive home essentially "empty" yet be ready for the weeks commute without another dedicated stop.

Female Neighbor Takes 2018 Corolla to the Stealership for 100k Service

I always feel bad when I see this stuff because some poor customer that doesn't know better is getting soaked. We were "old school" at 19. Back when I was a young man writing service we strictly went by the manual. We showed plenty of women what the manual said they did and what it didnt...

Has technology failed you today? List the ways and how often it happens to you.

Im in the TV/ Film/ Cinema equipment manufacturing business. Technology fails me everyday which is why we endeavor to build equipment that doesn't. The latest failure is a 40K X-ray parts counting machine that doesn't work like the brochure/ sales pitch that sold it. It partially works, but...

    New tool thread

A dial would be really great, but it's pretty basic. It's three settings and pretty linear like 900, 1700 and 3000 lumens. No option for color temp changes. Feels like a step up from my husky with its lo/hi and fire hazard temps.

Another angle of the product lighting the work at night in an otherwise pitch black room. Subjectively Id say it was a bit brighter that it appears on cam. completely refinished all the cabinets doors. Had to not only sand and paint, because the guy didnt clean for half a decade, but fill...

    New tool thread

Super happy with this gem - Makita DML 814 stand light. In the middle of another reno, the light fixtures are being replaced so the place is dark. Compared to my huskys it's not as bright and very expensive. But when you need the go anywhere without power portability, and flexibility of...
