OEM Kubota skid steer batteries lasting 8 years

The Les Schwab branded battery in my old Chevy box truck is 10 years old. Mom and dad had an F150 that had the original battery for 13 years. Both batteries in my Powerstroke were crapped out after 2 years. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you don’t.

Another technological mess on a newer Jetta.

I had this exact vehicle, minus the BMW emblem of course. It was great and I would have kept it a long time if I hadn’t smacked a deer at 65 with it.

Auto OEM's refuse to sell cars in California unless they’re allowed to track you

Wait till all new houses have these features integrated into them. Personally, I can’t wait for the day I can buy an Amazon iHouse with Microsoft Copilot that has a camera and microphone in every room. Even better if that bad boy comes with a smart toilet that analyzes my excrement so that it...

Auto OEM's refuse to sell cars in California unless they’re allowed to track you

Sorry, I have no interest in an insurance company monitoring my breaking or accelerating behavior. I haven’t had an accident in over 20 years, and the one I had all those years ago was very minor and only involved myself, a guard rail, some snow, and summer tires. I pay nice low rates right now...

High oil temps in 2023 f150 powerboost should I move to 0w40?

Yeah I’m questioning those oil temps. Exactly how exactly are you getting the oil temps that high? I would think it would take quite a bit of time at consistent load to reach 250+, such as pulling a heavy load uphill. What are your inferred coolant temps or cylinder head temps?

What are you working on today?

Well I’ve got my water pump installed in the old Express. The job went smoothly, but it turns out that the old pump wasn’t actually leaking from the weep hole, it was leaking from the bolted on impeller cover, as evidenced by the clean spot left in the grime from my old power steering pump that...

What are you working on today?

Today I evacuated, vacuumed, and recharged the AC in mom’s 96 Corvette. The AC has been very weak for a while apparently, and her and stepdad didn’t want the big bill to fix it since the car is just a toy. Of course being summer she wants to drive it, but it’s been a bit hot here so it has just...

What are you working on today?

Some people sure are hard on stuff! What did he clean that cluster with, a Brillo pad?

Anyone else turn everything off when you stop the car?

I just shut it down and hop out. The exception being my 6.7 Powerstroke, I make sure to idle it a bit if I was towing or just climbed a big hill to keep the turbo happy.

What are you working on today?

I just slapped a new starter on the old Chevy Express, since the old one was starting to get flaky. I would have probably rebuilt it if I had the parts, but it has to be back in service at 5 AM tomorrow. Battery and cables looked sharp so I’m sure that was it. It was pretty rough inside when I...

Did any of You Own Ford Thunderbird Ever

I never had one but a friend had an 85? with the 302 back in the day. The car was an absolute rat but it was pretty reliable from what I remember, with the exception of a heater hose springing a leak that he attempted to temporarily fix with Saran Wrap. It had the digital speedometer which...

Post your oil pressure at 4,000 rpm

Only vehicle I’ve got with a true oil pressure gauge is my 04 Express 3500 6.0. Running Delo 15W40 in it currently, hot idle is a hair under 40, cruising at 65mph is about 55 psi, and WOT right at shift point it nearly pegs the gauge at 80. No tach, so those are my reference points. 287k...

Your vehicle is watching, listening, and reporting your every move

I think the politicians that required these features in cars should have cameras recording their every movement and conversation, and it should be broadcasted live 24/7 for the whole world.
