    Consensus on battery powered OPE

Been running a Makita 36 volt trimmer and blower for about 5 years now. Very happy with both, and they get used a lot. I will easily go through four sets of batteries a session. The blower sucks down the batteries quickly. For big jobs I still use the gas blower. The trimmer lasts a long...

    Neue Klasse...

Skip to 3:23 (that "music" was annoying). I like the design. Too bad it's an EV. Put a B58TU in there and we'll talk.

Does it bug you people taking their dogs shopping in stores?

I hate it. The Home Depot I frequent looks like a pet store on weekends and evenings. I shop there only if there is no other choice. I have complained to the store manager, but it fell on deaf ears. I'm not a big fan of dogs. I guess being mauled as a child has something to do with it.

    Cell called wrong phone.

I don't know where the blame lies, but Apple does a lot of 'behind the scenes' stuff that I don't like. I had been an Android/Cricket customer for many years and the odd stuff didn't start happening until I switched to iPhone.

    Cell called wrong phone.

Are you using an iPhone? I dumped my iPhone(s) because of weird stuff like that. I had three phones and lines on one apple login. One time I was texting from one phone and it was sent from another phone/line. More than once, an incoming call to my primary phone was routed to a line that I...

When is an automatic car wash the cleanest?

Yes, they filter and treat the "wash" water. I don't know if they can filter out salt water (from road salt) though. Here's a link with a little more info: https://www.carparts.com/blog/do-car-washes-recycle-water-and-other-faqs/ Maybe someone here can explain the process.

When is an automatic car wash the cleanest?

Some car washes re-use the wash water... I think it is the law in some cities. If you want to keep your car looking like new... don't use automatic car washes... esp. those with brushes.

are people using leds as daytime running lights?

Add on (i.e. aftermarket) LED lights are a problem. They are rarely aimed correctly and the glare is blinding. I have been known to wear my sunglasses at night to try and preserve my night vision. And sometimes factory LED lights are not much better. I had a Rivian behind me (way behind) on the...

(B58 X3 M40i) Should I spend twice as much on Motul X-Clean+ for my first oil change

Great car, congratulations. Wicked fast. Since you are under warranty, I would use the BMW OEM oil that is spec'd for the car (0W-20). And the next oil change should be done by the dealer... since it's included in the three year maintenance plan (and you want a record that it was done). I went...

VW to integrate ChatGpt into vehicles by mid year.

My car (and phone) respond to voice commands. It's very handy and safer than fumbling around for buttons or a touch screen. For example, Siri combined with Car Play was very nice to use on a recent vacation to Southern California. It was able to route me to the nearest In-N-Out just by asking...

Starter motor from Lexus is remanufactured

I did the same job on my 2002 Sequoia... using a reman starter purchased from a Toyota dealer. I too was surprised it wasn't new, but the parts guy said the car was too old and reman is the only thing available. And yes, it is a big job, not as bad as yours apparently, but still took me 8 hours...

    Straight talk or Crickett?

Yes, it's a pre-paid plan and can be set up to auto-pay with a credit card. I don't know, I have never checked... but there is an on-line portal for payment, so there is probably a way to check the balance. I get a text alert when I'm down to my last 500MB.

Long-suspected link between cats and schizophrenia could be real: new study

There is a link to marijuana and schizophrenia too. So, if you smoke and have a cat... watch out!

    Lost a car today

Glad your daughter is OK. Too bad about the car, but it's only a car. I don't know many young drivers that get away accident free. It's a hard lesson, but an important one. How many times do we tell them to "be careful!?" now they know what we mean. Driving is serious business. And thanks for...
