ST16 is the filter the car needs. ValueCraft box looks cheesy I know bobistheoilguy.com has a review of filters, but I think its getting/is old/out-of-date? That why I was wondering which filters are decent. I heard WIX are pretty good.

So, now that I can't get ST, a decent oil filter for $2-$3, which the next best price/performance filter available? I've bought purolators with coupons, but even then they were like $5 or more.

I went in to pick-up some ST filters, and they only had a couple left. The entire wall was filled with 4-5 different fram filters, Ultra guard, Ultra Guard XL, and any other combination you could think of. Are they discontining ST filters? I checked in 3 different WM's, and all had the same...

I put larger tires than OEM on my truck. My speedo is about 5% below actual. I've verified this with my GPS device which reports speed fairly accurately. With my old tires, it was pretty much spot on.

I use DVDShrink (It's free). It is no longer under active development, so sometimes new protections give it problems. For that, I use the free DVD Decrypter. Always works great. I just found another program called DVD43, which runs in the background and allows DVDShrink without first extracting...

Also, don't waste the money on a UOA, it's not your car. Just keep doing 3K dino OCI's since you don't care if you can extended OCI's or if synthetic is beter in this engine which is the only reason to do UOA.. or to find gasket leaks. Again, who cares. Just my 2 cents.

No I haven't tried opening the full plug. I'll give that a go. My bike sits pretty close to the ground, and my current oil pan barely fits under it. Kinda hard to rock the bike. I'll probably try to get a smaller pan. I'm considering buying one of the bike lifts, but wouldn't be able to rock...

I just bought the bike w/ 3550 miles. Oil hadn't been changed in 3 years 3000 miles. I was trying to get all of it out. According to manual, there was still .4 qts in it. .2 of that was still in the filter which I'll change after a short interval. Since when does anybody on this board follow...

No, it turned pretty black just turning the engine over for 30 seconds. Must be mixing with bunch of oil that didn't get drained.

The motor was warmed up. I'll have to see if I can see any lines anywhere. I'm still waiting on the service manual also. I just thought I might be missing something obvious. Leaning the bike a little and back again seemed to drain some more also.
