Does this stuff work? Any harm in it? I looked over their site and it seemed interesting.

Thanks for the link. I'm still a little scared to run it though my m3. I'll have to think about it a little more. the car has 86k miles and the oil is always black when drained.

How to make an expensive oil change

Well it costs me a little over $55 a oil change with me doing it myself. I think that's enough, and don't even want to think about makeing it more.

Switching to M1 0w-40 in my BMW m3

I just got done with the oil change. The car now has 7qts of M1 0w-40 in it. Looking in my Bentley service manual it say 15w-40 is the oil of choice for my climate and 5w-30 for colder climates. Do you think i'm better off running 0w-40 over 15w-40? As far a the OCI goes i'm going to stick...

Switching to M1 0w-40 in my BMW m3

Thanks for the info. The car rarely sees a round trip of more them 30-40 miles and most the time isn't driven more then 5 miles a day. The 6 month drain seems like it would work the best for me so I'm going to start that with my next oil change. I tend to agree with you now that M1 5w-30 may not...

Switching to M1 0w-40 in my BMW m3

The car is a 95 m3 with a current 86k on the clock. I put 6k miles on it this past year with one 7qt fill of M1 5w-30. I've never had a oil analysis done. As a matter a fact up untill recenty I never knew such a thing existed. I just bought 7qts of M1 0w-40 and am waiting to try it. I also...

Switching to M1 0w-40 in my BMW m3

I've been running Mobil 1 5w-30 in my civic for 3yrs and m3 for a year . I've read that M1 5w-30 is not a BMW approved oil and that it runs on the thin side of a 30 weight oil. I live in Mobile Alabama were we don't have really cold winters were a 0 weight oil would be needed but I've had a few...
