    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

I'll post the results of the install. I will be installing the pre-luber this weekend but am awaiting release of the latest oilguard housing/filter and have no definite date. To summarize, the plan is to connect the pre-luber inlet to a hollow oil pan plug and the outlet to a sandwich adapter...

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

If anyone is still there, I could definitely use some help in picking a sandwich adapter for the above set-up. What's got me confused is whether I should get one with a relief valve, and if so, why? Regardless of whether the engine or pre-oiler pump is in operation, I'd like all oil not routed...

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

Slalom, thanks for the reply. I will definitely be installing a pressure gauge post-filter. I'm planning on using one of these: Pre-luber

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

Gary, Thanks a lot...that's exactly the answer I was looking for, and it does make sense. Mike

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

Ok, I really like the idea of using a sandwich adapter to both receive the output of the pre-oiler pump and supply the bypass filter, and I intend to do this. I also like the idea of returning the bypassed oil to the drain plug as well, however, I'm wondering whether this will really work. If I...

    Oil Dipstick Return Line?

It's for fear of something happening to the fitting or hose to allow the oil drain unbeknown, especially during operation. I would rather not for this very reason, but I'm going to install a pre-oiling pump that essentially requires use of the drain plug as a supply, and so I will also return my...

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

I just realized that this vehicle has a cast aluminum oil pan. I'm guessing a STHB won't work, but not sure. Maybe if I drill & tap?

    Bypass Filter & Pre-luber Install

I'm about to install both a pre-lubrication pump and an Oil Guard bypass filter on a 2006 Jeep Liberty diesel. I plan for the pre-luber to take oil from the pan via the drain plug and return oil via an oil filter sandwich adapter, which will allow filtration prior to entrance into the engine. I...

    PuraDYN Bypass

I think this was just released today: DOE Final Test Report

    OIL Purification Systems. Inc,

Well, I've been considering the PuraDYN system ( Thread ), and this looks mighty similar! I wish they provide more tech info tho. Interesting... Like the PuraDYN, it requires continuous current draw. I like the 2-piece design.

Good point. The continuous current draw does concern me. Not sure if it's worth it.

    PuraDYN Bypass

They have a variety of sizes, as you can see here: PuraDYN Spec Page However, they do run a tad big. And, it does seem they run expensive too. I searched e-bay yesterday and the smallest version was going for near $500. If I recall correctly, someone mentioned elsewhere on BITOG that...

    PuraDYN Bypass

Any thoughts on the PuraDYN bypass system? It seems sound but then I'm not a filtration expert. I'm encouraged by the apparent fleet owner interest. I wonder about the time-released additives. All-in-all, I'm leaning towards giving this a shot. It'll be going into a diesel with 0 miles. My 2nd...
