    5w-20 to 0w-20

Thanks everyone. I'm going to start using it at the next oil change then. I have usually avoided synthetics due to the high cost but I found this 0w-20 synthetic at a price I just couldn't pass up!

    5w-20 to 0w-20

I have a 2010 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7 V6. I have been using the recommended 5w-20 conventional oil in it but recently found a super deal on some 0w-20 full synthetic. Is there any problem with running the 0w-20 synthetic in my Jeep?

Clint Bowyer on Daytona qualifying: 'It's idiotic

I enjoy Nascar racing but I don't know what they were thinking with the new qualifying rules today! Total joke!

Extended Oil Change Intervals with Synthetics

I'm curious as to why the manufacturer always says NOT to extend oil change intervals whether or not you use conventional or synthetic oil. I've read a lot of comments on here about the benefit of synthetic oils being extended OCIs. BUT, . . my owners manual specifically says to use 15W-40...

    Mopar MaxPro 15W-40 Diesel

Does anyone know who makes the Mopar MaxPro 15W-40 CJ4 Diesel oil? I know that Pennzoil makes all of their gasoline engine oils. Pennzoil is also the maker of their factory fill oils and the bulk oil supplier to their dealerships. The difference here, is that the Cummins engine has, at least in...

    Best Diesel Engine Oil?

I agree with those who said they are all good. If the oil meets manufacturer's specs, they're going to do a great job protecting your engine. I have a lot invested in my last two trucks; both of them RAM diesels and everyone knows how much a Heavy Duty diesel pickup costs these days. So, . . I...

    Who Makes What Oil???

clarkg1124 is correct about the Mopar brand oils. Up until a couple of years ago, Mobil produced the Mopar "packaged" oils for Chrysler but the dealership bulk oil was provided by Shell/Pennzoil. Then, along about 2009, Chrysler signed a new "long-term" contract with Shell/Pennzoil to supply all...

    Declining DIY Market

Well, these days, most people are going to spend in the 25-45K range for a new vehicle. Changing the oil on most vehicles is a relatively easy thing to do. Most oil change shops or garages that do oil changes hire kids right out of high school with questionable mechanical skills to do the oil...

    How soon/first oil change?

demarpaint, according to my DVD/owner's manual, driving habits, idling time, miles, etc. are programed into the engine oil monitoring system. On the 2001 Grand Cherokee that I traded in, I just set the system to tell me when 4,000 miles had elapsed since the last oil change and it would chime...

    How soon/first oil change?

Gee, thanks for all the comments guys! I think I'm going to change the oil at 1,000 miles, just to be on the safe side. Then I'll probably change it every 3,000 to 4,000 miles after that. It has an oil change message on it's computer thats supposed to tell you when you're 500 miles from needing...

    How soon/first oil change?

I bought a new 2010 Jeep Liberty Ltd a few weeks ago and joined the online Jeep Forum group to learn more about it from other owneres. So far, with 656 miles on the odometer, the wife and I are loving this small but very solid feeling SUV with it's 3.7 V6. My question is about the first oil...

    Mopar Pennzoil/Mobil?

Well, I got the dealer to order me 4 cases (12 qts each) of 5w20 for my new Jeep. How is the shelf life on motor oil? This is probably enough to do me about 3 years! And it came in new style packaging; even the shape of the bottles is new and the label on each qt is new with a picture of a...

    Mopar Pennzoil/Mobil?

Thanks guys, and Johnny, I had wondered if the Nascar deal might have something to do with the changeover. Mobil is leaving Penske racing next year as the sponsor of Sam Hornish's #77 Dodge and Shell/Pennzoil is joining Penske next year as the sponsor of Kurt Busch's #22 Dodge (Brad Keselowski...

    Mopar Pennzoil/Mobil?

My dealer tells me that Mopar is in the process of changing oil suppliers from Mobil to Pennzoil for it's Mopar MaxPro packaged engine oils. I've used Mopar Max or MaxPro since the '70s in my vehicles and want to continue so is Pennzoil as good as Mobil? My new Jeep Liberty calls for 5w20 which...

    2006 Jeep Liberty oil question

When the manufacturer calculates a "service life" of 300,000 miles, that is quite good. Most gasoline engines, both foreign and domestic, have a "service life" of 150,000 miles. Even some diesels are only 150,000 "service life." Until recently, the Duramax and Powerstroke "service life" was...
