EV batteries are defying expectations after hundreds of thousands of miles

I think that's the case for most modern EVs, but if it did only last 10 years that's not very good lifespan for a modern car.

EV batteries are defying expectations after hundreds of thousands of miles

As an interesting detail, my 2024 Model Y Performance with 25k miles on is rated to 279 miles. On current efficiency numbers it says I'd hit 309 miles. I expected at least a small drop.

    Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD)

That's precisely why as long as the person behind the wheel isn't an idiot and takes over when necessary it's a non issue. Unfortunately that's not everyone and in the case of Waymo, there is no driver in the car to take over and that's only done remotely. There are definitely things that are...

The new Bolt in the wild...

I definitely didn't buy the Y for the looks. I would with the new Y Performance though. I still like my previous body style Y Performance look, it did grow on me eventually. If I didn't need the extra space I would buy the Model 3. I do think it is the better looking version and I do think...

RoboTaxi in the wild, around Palo Alto...

What you say makes sense, but has no basis in reality with FSD. My gripes with FSD all have to do with my impatience because how it stops for stop signs and goes. It just takes longer to things than I do, so I have basically all but stopped using it. Safety critical disengagements are...

The new Bolt in the wild...

I don't think they look bad at all. I just think they all have a look that isn't mistaken for something else.

The new Bolt in the wild...

Definitely wouldn't mistake it for anything but a small Chevrolet for sure.

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

What a fancy way for Tesla to say "we parts binned this one!" Now I wonder how much programming they used to make it actually understand stopping distances in a semi.

The new Bolt in the wild...

I don't think it looks that different from the last one to be honest. Not that I've studied it, but other than the taillight I'd never be able to tell the difference between them unless they were parked side by side.

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

One is available in a car you can own. The other isn't. Waymo isn't even a consideration by that metric which is what I believes prompts this response to FSD. Is FSD perfect? Far from it. Do I like FSD? At this point after many months of usage, not really. I've genuinely grown to hate how...

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

I've done it because sometimes it does just kick in unnecessarily rarely, but it does happen. I had it happen earlier when someone pulled out in front of me but continued through the intersection out of my way while driving without using FSD or Autopilot. Not being able to override it could...

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

To override emergency braking, let off the accelerator and hit it again. You have to committ to override it. It doesn't just happen.

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

A lot less people use it than you think and it's just a weird marketing term. You're correct though, it's not helping their case.

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck

No one is giving Tesla a pass. I swear this is the first brand in the world that we blame the manufacturer and not the operator for accidents. Welcome to opposite world I guess.

    2026 Rivian R2 First Review

I've experienced it both with iPhone and Samsung with satellite texting. Pretty slick.
