It turned out to be a poorly manufactured brass fitting on my bottle. Tons of little bits of brass in its bore. -DT

I'll check. I do wonder if that brass hose fitting is just... disintegrating. I've heard GL5 can do that, but MOTUL denies it, and it doesn't really pass the sniff-test that it would happen THAT quickly. -DT

It's not air; these things are tumbling down the tube in a way that air doesn't. Here's another video.

I realize that headline is ignorant, but look at this: I've got MOTUL 85W95 GL4/GL5 gear oil in a bottle upside down; there's a brass fitting with a tube on it feeding my differential. Surely that GL5 isn't disintegrating that fitting that quickly, is it? I'm so confused.

It doesn’t burn oil. But I wonder: Is there really THaT much zinc in this stuff? Is there any way to tell what is in it short of a voa?
