    '96 Pathfinder - 16.9 mpg - Pathetic!

I agree. I don't think I ever got 15mpg with mine, but that was mostly short trips and a teenage driver. That is all you can expect from a 30 year old SUV. Check your rear suspension bushings. Those things get crazy death wobble when they get loose.

Sorry. I was using my phone and I bet it was the autocorrect that thought it knew better than me.

    Anybody have E-15 Ethanol concerns?

California doesn't want you driving any gasoline powered cars no matter how old. They are banning the sale of them by 2035

    '96 Pathfinder - 16.9 mpg - Pathetic!

I had one of those and did the same things. That is all you are going to get with them. Engine will run forever but they have no power and are heavy. Did the timing belt, water pump and plugs. There is one plug that you do blind with a special wrench that comes with the truck. Did valves...

That alone costs as much as the vehicle is worth!

Local Speedways no longer competing in fuel prices

Stop and Rob... They are a good place to get robbed or shot. Some are nice but depends on the area but most seem to be run down and not kept up. Especially the old SA ( SuperAmerica) stations. I drove by one leaving work for years and saw guys cuffed across the hood of a squad car quite often.

    Eagles in Alaska

I saw one take a dead raccoon off the highway in front of me. Really cool to see but it was struggling to lift it but got it to the field next to the road

Extended oil change intervals impact on Wear

I think this is funny because it about the exact opposite of what everyone was saying when I joined this forum 20 some years ago. Everyone was trying to figure out how long they could go saying 3-5k OCI were a waste of money. Times have changed chainged and I'm by no means saying you are wrong...

Extended oil change intervals impact on Wear

I have a 2019 F-150 5.0 and I do the same thing with Mobil 1 Extended Performance. I started with 0w20 and lately have been running 5w30. Mine uses about a 1/2 qt in 5k. I had the engine changed under warranty at 16k for excessive oil consumption , but this one is better. I have been...

May need to buy my first Icon tool

Nothing wrong with Icon stuff. Their ratchets are great and they are the best for retail homeowner warranty claims. Walk in and replaced pretty much no questions asked. I have 2 within a 15-30 min drive. I am a homeowner but do a lot of repairs on various things and their tools are good...

Extended oil change intervals impact on Wear

I think it is vehicle and driving style dependent mostly. I have a 2006 Focus 2.0 with no turbos or variable timing bs on it. Just a gas engine with not a ton of power that gets driven almost 100% highway/freeway on an hour commute to work. It now has 320k on it and I change the oil at 10k...
