    High Performance Lubricants PCMO Series

For the past 8000 miles I've run the 0w30 Supercar in my B48 2.0 Turbocharged Direct Injection engine putting out over 300 HP with no indication of any LSPI problems.

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

My guess would be the engine isn't getting hot enough to evaporate the moisture in the system.

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

If it's true as stated elsewhere, this car is Port injected and NOT turbo. Therefore it's NOT prone to LSPI.

    Cardboard test for fuel dilution

The actual test is to see how many think the "cardboard test" is useful...reminds me of "anchoring statements" presented in first year psychology classes. ;)

    BMW 230i (B46) oil

I'd run the "free" BMW 0w20 oil during the 6 coldest months while under warranty, and do an additional oil change to an Xw30 in the hottest 6 months. Unless you are really beating the bejeezus out of it, the 0w20 isn't going to be insufficient to protect the engine for a LONG, LONG time...so...

2021 Civic. 8k Oil Change. Severe fuel dilution.

It's NOT the low-tension rings. MANY engines have those. My Camry 2.5 engine has low tension rings and will run 10,000 miles with no measurable oil loss and insignificant fuel dilution. Modern engines commonly operate on the edge of knock much of the time by running a lean Fuel/Air ratio. As...

Why/ why not run oil level at MIN?

For those commenting about experience with oil consumption at higher levels, that does match with some anecdotal evidence in a few engines that I've had where the oil level would drop to about 1/2 and remain there. Fill it up...and it would drop to the half-way mark again relatively soon and...

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

    That is believable.

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

Of course, I get the idea that the greater the HTHS the greater the protection. I also understand that high HTHS oils generally have some higher Zinc, etc. Assume there are two identical HTHS oils, one with a superior anti-wear pack. Surely it would provide better wear protection than one with...

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

Seems obviously true if the Anti-wear additives are equal. But surely this may not be true if the higher HT/HS oil has inferior anti-wear additives...or what would be the purpose of anti-wear additives?

    "Best" FCPEuro A40 / C40 Oil

Any of those oils will be sufficient under these conditions for the engine to last over 100 years.

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

"Personally I think it will make no difference whatsoever, and it’s best to use a thicker oil rather than thin" Yep. The difference between 10 cSt and 12.5 cSt at operating temp is miniscule. There will be no meaningful difference in MPG.

Anyone Else "Oil Flush" When Doing an OC?

I think you'd be better served to position the vehicle with the drain at the lowest point possible in relation to the engine. Some of my cars that means having one side higher than the other, some it means to have the front end up higher than the rear. Then I let it drain until it's no longer...

    Low tension rings

Over 600,000 miles on your Mazda? Yeah...I'd say it "lasted OK"!

    Low tension rings

So the low-tension can be fine until suddenly it's not. Interesting. Thanks!
