    0w-20 direct injection oils

Perhaps it was a typo and meant to be "genteel" or even "gentile". No matter which was intended, it could use clarification.

Switching from 0w-20 to 0w-30 experience

I drained the factory fill from my 300+ HP Lexus V6 with just a few hundred miles on it. Put in Mobil ESP 0w30. Just drove a 500 mile round-trip at mostly 75-80 mph, with the typical stop-and-go Atlanta traffic. Two adults in the vehicle. Averaged 34 mpg (hand calculated). Don't know what mpg...

Switching from 0w-20 to 0w-30 experience

Unless you are starting your engine at about minus 35 F, there is no difference in "dry start" (however you choose define that) performance between a 0w-30 and a 5w-30. Lots of things to worry about...but this isn't one of them.

High Performance Lubricants No VII series engine oils.

Sorry, I took post #795 as a stand-alone with a question, as I hadn't remembered reading your earlier posts. I see now that you weren't entertaining other advice, it just looked that way with no historical setup. (y)

High Performance Lubricants No VII series engine oils.

Direct recommendation from Dave...and it's "more affordable"...why entertain any other advice?

Oil take that comes full circle - Edge 0W-30!

Auto-Rx stopped a lifter tick in my 4.6 Ford modular engine in just a bit over 500 miles. This was somewhere around 2007, I think!

Best oil for Tuned BMW M8 (S63TU4)

Surely you jest. You have a special engine that is further tuned, and you wonder if there may be "overkill" or "I don't mind spending extra...if the performance supports the cost"? If it were mine, I'd be using the best darn oil I could get into it...price would not be an issue. Whether an oil...

Great to see this good UOA on a fine engine in a fine car. I bought this car in 2025 form. It's the final year of the simple 3.5 V6 FWD Lexus ES350 F-Sport Handling that they'll make. 2026 sees big changes. My only complaint is the brakes are not great (compared to my Mini JCW that has bigger...

    BMW 230i (B46) oil

I did a run of PP Euro LX 0w30 in my B48. It held up well for 5000 miles, as expected. It's one of several good choices.

The last line said: "I intend to continue this OCI for another 10k miles and then sample again." I'd imagine the decision will be made to change or continue based upon that OCI analysis.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

I've read most of this thread, but it's been over many days, and I don't remember it all. Forgive me if this has been brought up: Hybrid engines that do not run continuously must have a relatively low oil temperature. IF THAT IS TRUE, compare the viscosity of a 0w8 at that operating oil temp...

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

I ALWAYS put 0w-20 in my Toyota 2.5 Dynamic Force Engine. And I put 0w30 in my Lexus 3.5 engine. And 0w30 in my BMW B48 engine. Those two have 0w20 listed as the primary oil. Certainly doesn't hurt anything...

    Another "First Oil Change" Thread

That's an acceptable amount of what I call "scharf" in the pleats. Enjoy a long engine life with that vehicle!
