Fiat Doblo 1.4L Petrol 30,000 km OCI safety?

I do a ton of highway driving, haven’t done an oil analysis but typically do 5,000km intervals. has anyone with a 1.4 got any results with the long change intervals? There’s gotta be some magic or lies going on with these Long Life oils.

2013 Kia 2.0L T-GDI, cold start noise identification?

The vehicle had a 6,300mile oil change and then a 9,500mile oil change which the mechanic found it to be 2-3 quarts low. Thankfully this is not long enough to void the lifetime warranty. I understand it is a long interval especially for a turbocharged theta 2, it was due to ignorance at the...

2013 Kia 2.0L T-GDI, cold start noise identification?

I have been listening to startups since this initial post and when the car is dramatically tilted, I can hear it faintly on warm startup as well. - I’ve been told the oil pickup screen is possibly clogged but can’t know for sure without a pan drop. I don’t think the rod bearings are going out...

2013 Kia 2.0L T-GDI, cold start noise identification?

4,000 miles 4.5 months in so far, the noise is still there. The smell in the cabin was actually from me using 87 octane on the 2.0 Turbo instead of something greater. Oil consumption has vastly increased so I am hoping it will drop in the next few thousand miles.

    Brake pad glazing

The noise and feel is of stick slip is still apparent, even after the 60-10 method being done a bunch of times. Do I need to manually re-surface the rotors and pads? They aren’t exactly what I’d call dull but they aren’t super shiny. I’ve heard 120 grit sandpaper in circular motions on the...

    Brake pad glazing

I was thinking of Bosch Quietcast on my test drive back, if I can’t find a fix I’ll consider spending a bit of money to try those new pads. Is it okay to just swap to new pads on the same rotors without resurfacing them with a machine since they have already been broken in?

    Brake pad glazing

North Carolina, not too much rust here luckily. If it doesn’t return maybe we can meet if you are in the area. This vehicle never had its brake fluid change until recently 5 months ago. 13 years of neglect because a service advisor told the previous owner it just needed to be topped up every...

    Brake pad glazing

Replaced and re-lubed the pins very lightly, made sure that no sil-glyde got onto the tip of the pins. Put on the new boots and put everything back together. Pads fit pretty well, they can be pulled in and out with little resistance. The pins move a bit more freely; the ones with a rubber o-ring...

    Brake pad glazing

Yes I do, will that cause it? My slide pins were also not properly lubed

    Brake pad glazing

Akebono ProACTs with ~1,500 miles on them. I’ve been having brake noise and was wondering if these look glazed? And if so how to fix them. I am looking into other areas that may be causing the brake noise (stop slip)

2013 Kia Sportage 2.0T P2297 Code. Possible leak?

CEL came on the other day P2297 along with a history p0140 code which ended up going away later. Fuel trims have been 8-15% total when cold and lessen after a long drive. My injectors are clean as I’ve run about 4 bottles of Techron and two Valvoline Restore and Protect fuel cleaners. There’s...

Brake Stop-Slip driving me crazy 2013 Kia Sportage 2.0 Turbo

slide pins were lubricated with some lavender colored stuff my buddy had that i assume was brake slide pin lube since i was unable to find silglyde at walmart, I plan on replacing all of the slide pins and rubber boots with new oem parts and fully cleaning out each caliper hole with brake...
