Hi all, I work in a small engine shop and we are looking to go with 55 gallon drums for our engine oil and our hydro drive oil. For the engine oil we are going with a 10w40 or 15w40 and the drives require 15w50 or 20w50. I am trying to find the happy medium between quality and price when it...

Thank you all for helping me out so far. It seems like the general vote is go with amsoil in basically any of the variations and use a motorcraft filter. I get my first change for free from the dealership. How many miles should i wait until i switch to synthetic?

I dont know if amsoil is the best choice for this engine or not. Thats why i came to people with more knowledge than i have.

If i draw out the oil change intervals too long and they blame an issue on that. I dont know how much these new vehicles can tell a tech just by plugging in.

Thank you for the quick reply! I purchased a 5 year 125,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on the car so i dont want to mess that up. That being said i think the motorcraft filter idea is spot on. They recommend a 5000 mile change interval at ford so i figure with good oil i could extend that...
