Hey there! I also just switched from a T100 to a 03 gx470 a few months ago. Amazing vehicle. 210k miles with good service history, recent air bag replacement (expensive) and it great shape other that a little bit of paint peeling on some of the plastic. Got it for $5800 and I couldn't be...
RLI Is awesome stuff. I have over 50 quarts of their stuff in various weights of oil. All bought for 3-5$ a quart. I also have some of their fuel cleaner (1 gallon) and some TCW3. Oh and 2 gallons of their booster pack that I got for a little over 40$ a piece.
Ive run 0w20 in the 3.4 toyota no problem. A 5w30 would be just fine, the truck specs 30wt anyway....
As for mpg, it will help but you won't noice the improvement from tank to tank, pretty hard to detect the slight increase.

Subaru is known for oil burning and head gaskets. I don't know if the 06 model is known for the HG or not but it is something to look out for. Subaru makes a great car all around though. I am a toyota only guy but if I had to get something else it would be a honda or subaru.
Congratulations!!! My daughter is almost 3 months old. I can not even begin to tell you how much of a blessing she has been to my wife and I's life. I am so excited for you.
I own a 2014 thinkpad x1 carbon. Supposed to be tough as nails but it has been problem after problem. Keys break, screen broke when I cleaned it with a q tip and it is a touch screen....cost 1600$ new. Always was a PC guy but I think I might stick with mac's because....
My wife's 2008 MacBook...
It has more than your typical 0w20 but you are talking about 1 OCI just to try it out. I would say in the long run it won't matter. Running it every OCI probably won't either and might even decrease your consumption.
Ran 3 gallons in my prius with a 10 gallon tank...not a huge difference in mpg so far. Running 3 gallons in the sienna and haven't noticed any power gain when mixed with 93 but the mpg haven't gone down much either. The price difference from regular for me is about 30 cents.
0w20 is good stuff...go with amsoil or redline if you want a slightly thicker premium 0w20. Otherwise I think PUP is going to work amazingly in that engine.
