Why do hotels put comforters/duvets on beds... year around?

Because hotels need to cater to the whole array of needs. Some people like to crank the A/C to max and bundle up. Some people like nothing on them while they are sleeping. It's about individual comfort. You decide what works for you.

Shopping: do you already know what you are buying?

I'm 99.8% certain of what I am buying when I go into the store. I allow some flex for good sales or clearance items that we may need in the near future.

Things people have said to you that still bother you years later...

Unfortunately, some teachers suffer from delusions of adequacy.

Things people have said to you that still bother you years later...

Absolutely can. All you need to do is call and make an appointment. Timing is of the essence though. They kept everything for 3 years, microfiched the records, then destroyed the hard copy. Anecdotal comments were not included. So, if I would have gone in one year later, the comment would have...

Things people have said to you that still bother you years later...

This statement came from my fourth grade teacher: "Smothered by Grandmother and Mother. Will never amount to anything." This teacher was an old warhorse that didn't even have a Bachelors. She got her job back in the day when passing an exam was an option. The battleax didn't even have the guts...

    Discount Tire Memorial Day Sale

I bought a Select Number mattress and was offered 36 months SAC. This SAC offer was tendered through a Select Number credit card, issued by Synchrony. About 6 months in, received a letter giving 30 days notice that if I wanted to continue the SAC agreement, that I would be assessed a 2% fee. So...

    Discount Tire Memorial Day Sale

Not only to mention that the promo financing probably requires a 2% "Fee" or buy down. That's a fairly new feature on most, if not all, Synchrony cards. Anymore, I've found that I can do as well or better at one of the warehouse clubs, or at one of the local Ford or Chrysler dealerships when...

CITGO gas with TriClean : What are your thoughts or

Citgo has been blessed by the TT overlords. It is as good as anything else. I'd burn it if they hadn't pulled out of the state years ago.

    Overthinking almost everything

Proper planning is a great thing, when applied in moderate doses. The key is to prevent that skill from developing into paralysis by analysis.

Accord or RX350 ... Which car would you sell?

If you really have someone willing to pay 18K for almost a 13 year old Accord, I'd recommend you be all over that like flies on a rib roast. Take the money and park it somewhere where you might generate some coin off of it. Drive the Lexus at least until you can find something that you like as...

Considering buying this X300 - Opinions?

When you go view it, take a look at the owners residence. Ask him about the terrain that the tractor has serviced. If the property is relatively flat with minimum hills, it will probably be fine. If there are severe hills, take a pass. Ask him if he has pulled anything with it. If he has, see if...
