When did 1 ton cargo vans go FWD?

I just thought it was interesting as RWD cargo Vans (full size anyway) have been the norm in North America and I can't recall seeing FWD ones until about 6 months ago. Just wondering when the FWD was introduced to North America (or Canada specifically)? Europe/Asia have always had different...

    Rivian sighting

It might be "best CAR of the year" but it has no place in the truck world. 60 miles of range towing 7k. Useless in the real world...as a truck. Blew through 81% of the battery going 50 miles TO the beginning of the Ike's Gauntlet, had to recharge before going up. 2% of the battery was...

When did 1 ton cargo vans go FWD?

Been driving behind some big cargo vans from Stelantis or whatever they are now and I can see a single beam across the rear axle with no driveline components. When did 1 ton commercial vehicles go FWD. It's new to me. Load up the rear and head up a wet hill...should be able to spin those front...

Can extreme cold ( 0 to -20 ) for 2 - 4 days cause an engine oil filter to become loose and seep / leak oil ?

Funny, millions of cars here in Canada run those temperatures and much lower for months at a time. There is no plague of torn or leaking filters or gaskets.

Ice grips for on boots/shoes question.

I have several different sets. The ones you show seem to lose their studs regularly. By far, the best grip on sheer ice and frozen trails are these: Icers I also have a couple of pairs of these, which work fine, but don't have the tenacious grip of the icers...

    I am so stupid #2

Still don't understand what is funny about landing between two 737s regardless of what airplane he's flying.

How much damage could I have done?

F150s right through 2021 have "flood mode". Pretty sure all fords with fuel injection are the same: https://www.f150ecoboost.net/threads/getting-oil-to-engine-before-starting.74168/

    Front wheel bearing hub assembly?

It can also be ball joints, tie rod ends or sway bar links rattling when you move the wheel. Being that it's at a mechanic, it's probably the hub/bearing.

Who's right? (or closer to right): Oil specification for my old Fiat Abarth, 5w40 or my new Honda SI, 0w20?

Just for reference. Here are the oil recommendations for the same 2014 Mazda 3 sold in 3 different areas. You can't possibly believe CAFE doesn't come into play. USA, Canada and Puerto Rico: The rest of the Americas: Australia and New Zealand:

Can oil grade impact cam phasing?

LvR got it right. The phaser position is controlled by an electronic solenoid that is fed a pulse width modulated signal based on cam position feedback. The computer will simply change the amount of energy being fed to the solenoid to achieve the cam position it wants, regardless of oil...

Lube spark plug threads, and if so, modify torque spec?

I use just the slightest bit of 1600 degree anti seize. Never a problem and make removal a piece of cake.

    2022 Tundra Frame Walk Around

We spend the summer towing a 7500 lb trailer around the rockies with the F150 in my sig. This truck would be in contention when its time to replace the Ford (not for a while, but that mitigates teething pains it the toyota). The snout needs work though.
