I'm thinking of purchasing a Mercury 50HP outboard four-stroke motor. Was told I can run a regular 10W-30 oil. Don't I have to run a marine oil? Same thing with my Honda PWC. Can I run, let's say, Amsoil 0W-30 oil in it? I use specifically Amoil products in my cars.

What is the consensus on Synlube lubricants? I'm an Amsoil user but was curious on this stuff. Is it really that good according to the website? I've done a search of the website here but there is not much info on Synlube. Thanks.

How good is the Motorcraft FL820S? How does it compare to the Amsoil or Mobile 1 oil filters?

I have the Amsoil TS-83 air filter in my 02 Camaro Z28 and it works fine. This is the same air filter for the 97-03 C5 Corvettes.

A side benefit to a 5W-20 oil is increased HP. Since it is a thinner oil there is less resistance in the motor. If I were to use a 20W oil I'd use Torco's MZP Synthetic 0W-20. It's a great racing oil that can be used in daily drivers, too. See: Todd, That goes against board rules Please read...

Yep...get in and drive! I start the car, make sure oil pressure is up and then pull out. I don't romp on it just yet. Just drive normally until car is warmed up.
