    Oil Recommendation?

Oh I should clarify the 2015 WRX utilizes a new motor. The fa20dit. It's direct injection with a twin scroll turbo.

    Oil Recommendation?

It's strictly a track car now but has a long block. Power comes from the e85 tune and bolt ons. HPDE with a focus in moving to time attack. Session are usually 20 mins. Car does sometimes get tracked inn 105F weather. 😅

    Oil Recommendation?

Thanks! Can't beat 20 bucks, and I just drain it after every event anyway. I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

    Oil Recommendation?

I'm not sure verse in oil so I was those who are more informed can make some recommendations. Car is a 2015 WRX running E85 making 350/350 wheel. It is pretty much a track only car that occasionally gets driven around town. Originally I was using M12 ESP 5W30 but when the car started track...

2015 WRX DI Castrol Edge 5W40

I'm not an expert on oil. It seemed good and cheap. I got cases in the garage. When I finish it I'll look for something else.

Miles on that oil is just over 1000. Miles on engine almost 69000. Very little oil usage. She burns a tiny amount at the track but I overfill it slightly. I would guess 1/8 of the dip stick full to low. When no tracking, she might burn that same amount over 4000 miles.

2015 WRX DI Castrol Edge 5W40

Hi, It has been awhile since I had a uoa done on my engine oil. In the last year I switched from Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 to Castrol Edge 5W40. I also held off because I installed an oil cooler. The car is now seeing regular track time, and it starting to see some oil brief oil starvation depending...

    2015 WRX FA20DIT Mobil 1 ESP 5W30

New test results. I thought about the sulfur theory when I got the UOA back. From what I can tell, there is higher sulfur in E85 in California when compared to our 91. That should have forced the TBN to drop further, not raise it. Now the viscosity going up could be a result of the E85. I can...

I emailed OAI. They confirmed the results don't add up. They are retesting my oil. I'll update when available.

I ran upper cylinder lubricant for about 4000 miles. Not sure if this was the cause of magnesium. Nickle dropped, which I'm happy about. But the TBN is shockingly high. All my previously test with this mileage had TBN in the 2-3s. I will say the one the that has changed is my commute. Its...

    2015 WRX FA20DIT Mobil 1 ESP 5W30

The engine in the car was part of a Subaru recall. Part of the procedure required a leak down test, which it passed. I believe it was 1% across all cylinders, so at least the piston rings are solid. Not sure what else I can do.

A few more UOAs later...and the nickel is still present. Car has only had the black subaru filter and Mobil 1 5W30 ESP. Unfortunately, I've got enough ESP to last another 30K! The curse of the right click happy online shopper.
