    Thank you for the explanation

    Another Moly Question

That makes sense. So since Mobil 1 ESP doesn’t use Moly, is it just a better base and a different additive that will provide the same performance as Moly? I am only assuming having Moly is a good thing since HPL seems to like using it.

    Another Moly Question

I know there are different types of Moly. I also know that my vehicles seem to run quieter on larger amounts of Moly. Also, it seems the boutique oils run large amounts of it, HPL, Amsoil, etc. I know there is a good amount of it in my TGMO 0w-16 as well. Given all of this, why does the current...

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

It very well could be. But, why spend the extra money for HPL? The only reason it makes sense is extended intervals. There is no reason for someone that changes their oil at 5k to spend the extra money on HPL.

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

I’m not sure what you mean? No one should base a decision on what?

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

That’s what I got out of it. I do use Valvoline Restore and Protect in two of my vehicles with no plans of switching. I use Toyota oil in the third solely based on the very high amounts of Moly. HPL should have 2-3 times the moly of Valvoline Restore and Protect for the price, it should be what...

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

I have. It looks like the OP last posted on page 33, then a majority of the last few pages is you and someone disagreeing. I think the problem was the OP tried to clean up HPLs mess with Valvoline Restore and Protect, that’s where he went wrong. Should have just stuck with Valvoline Restore and...

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

If HPL wasn’t 3X the price, I would run it. Same with Amsoil. For me, I change oil every 5k on my Toyotas and every 4k on the Hemi regardless of the oil so I prefer the money savings. I personally think Valvoline Restore and Protect is an excellent oil, but the Walmart shelves have a few great...

Would Valvoline Restore and Protect prevent cam-roller failure on a 2019 Durango 5.7L Hemi?

My experience with the Hemi so far has been that they love Valvoline. My assumption is the higher level of Moly keeps them quiet. I am on my third Hemi currently and run Valvoline Restore and Protect. I started with Mobil, but it was “clackity”. As soon as I switched to Valvoline, it was like a...

Amsoil Signature Series trying out Valvoline Restore and Protect

When I look through the oil analysis reports on here, I don’t see anything particularly amazing that SS does, outside of fuel dilution. When I look at the Valvoline Restore and Protect reports, it seems to all be positive, even when ran up to higher mileage

Amsoil Signature Series trying out Valvoline Restore and Protect

You have a valid point. SS states up to 25k miles, I personally would never do that and max run to 10k miles. With the price of Valvoline Restore and Protect at Walmart, the savings is still heavily in favor of Valvoline Restore and Protect, at least for me. I don’t run any of my vehicles past...

Amsoil Signature Series trying out Valvoline Restore and Protect

It’s also not the price of SS. Are you or I ever going to notice a difference in engine failure running either oil? I would bet that if you ran two exact engines and ran SS in one, Valvoline Restore and Protect in the other, the only difference we would ever notice is Valvoline Restore and...

Amsoil Signature Series trying out Valvoline Restore and Protect

So many people just use it for cleaning their engines, but if you do OCIs at 5k, it’s a more than capable oil as well. I would make the switch from Amsoil for the savings as well as to keep my motor clean.

2010 5.7 hemi oil/filter recommendation (may or may not have early signs of cam wear)

I am on my 4th Hemi vehicle and have seen each one behave differently with specific oils I’ve tried. My personal recommendation for any Hemi: Valvoline. I’ve used Mobil, Pennzoil, and Valvoline in my Hemi vehicles and they seem to run quieter and smoother with Valvoline, I suspect because of the...
