Here’s why Slate changed the battery in its cheap EV truck

Oh , I'm sure they will be available out the door for under $30k* *For the 2027 model year , then in February of 2027 they will release the 2028 model with a significant price increase. Just like Ford did with the Maverick.

2018 Suburban transmission trouble for relatives

It seems like 6,8,9,10 speed transmissions have been really problematic for GM. With the 6 speed, something fails inside the torque converter and ruins the rest of the transmission. I don't believe maintenance can help that one. Miss the days of the 4L60 going 300,000 miles until the truck...

Here’s why Slate changed the battery in its cheap EV truck

I've been liking what I am seeing with the Slate. I can live with the range. Non spaceship EV Exactly what I want. The range isn't the best but for just running to work and back, it'll be a perfect low budget commuter. Going to try to hold out with my current fleet of junkers until 2028 when...

Never ever had a car with a working AC

The vibration thing drives me nuts. I've replaced every suspension and steering component on my grand marquis , tires and wheels. It still has a shimmy that just doesn't go away.

Thanks for helping choosing a vehicle back in 2021

Over the years , I worked with a few accounting MBAs that were also a CPA who made awful personal financial decisions. . I guess I had better expectations?

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

Blatant negligence from a company running a complete rotbox for a limo shouldn't translate into stupid laws and regulations for the average DIY'er but we all know it will. How much would it have cost the company to put new brake lines and calipers/pads/rotors on that?

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

I believe the state outlawed stretch limousines entirely now? I remember that was crazy when it happened. Sketchy repairs on a vehicle transporting a lot of people ... no good. Are limos held to the same standard as buses? Guess it doesn't matter when the guy runs stuff that was placed out of...

Finally got one of the new USPS mail delivery trucks...

I believe it's actually retaliation. We have a handful of complaints in with this postal carrier. But whatever. We have to play their game to get our mail.

Finally got one of the new USPS mail delivery trucks...

We stopped getting mail delivered. Again. Apparently these tall mail trucks hit a branch near the mailbox and stopped delivering mail. The postal carrier had a letter to put in our mailbox letting us know about the tree ... but didn't put it in the mailbox because they were refusing delivery ...

    Cheapest new gas lawn mower

And lower RPM. Lawnmowers usually run 3600 - 4000?

    Slate EV Pickup

I hope---if it actually comes out--it doesn't get Maverick'd once it ends up being popular.

    Gas Price pics

I drove my truck for a week ... $130 later. Phew! It doesn't get driven much so it gets ethanol free. Around here, ethanol free is only 90 or 91 so its comes with a premium. Sticking to the Mercury which isn't much better. I'm regretting the Dorman intake.

    Mower height for grass/clover lawns.

I have a spot that has a hard time growing due to shade, not due to lack of water. However the lawn has to be mowed at the lowest setting so it dries up quicker when we get rain.

It never gets any easier letting someone go

A previous job of mine learned the hard way that you can't revoke that privilege from good earners. CEO didn't want work from home for his salespeople. He had us measure every possible metric on the salespeople. Hands down, they all produced significantly more sales and leads on days they were...
