I used large contractor trash bags and vacuumed most of the air out and then twist tied them closed. Overkill but the person that bought that winter tire setup later benefited.

It is a small-sized spare and I just recently grabbed a cheap Rav4 18" wheel and a used tire to match our slightly upsized 235/65r18s for our Sienna, so we'll actually have a full size spare. Will just throw it in the Yakima Skybox up top and hope to never need it.
