    Synthetic oil dries out seals.

If there is a downloadable version of Toyota TSB #DL00303 then I can't find it. However, I did find a very active thread about it, circa 2003, here: https://www.tundrasolutions.com/threads/rear-axle-seal-leaks-caused-by-syn-gear-oil.6964/?nested_view=1&sortby=oldest That thread centered...

    Synthetic oil dries out seals.

The TSB that I mentioned above would either confirm or deny your observation in an authoritative way. Perhaps there is someone here that can actually navigate the interwebs to obtain it.

    Synthetic oil dries out seals.

I don't know if this is an equivalent sitution - talking about differential oil vs engine oil - but back when I was looking at doing my first differential oil changes in my '00 Chrysler 300M (V6 FWD with separate oil sump for the differential) there was mention back in the '05 - '07 time frame...

Anyone heard of a parts cleaner called PSC 1000? Is it available in Canada?

I've read on another board that something called PSC 1000 is a good parts cleaning solution. I think made by Crown. A search for this here on BITOG turns up nothing. Anyone use it, and is it available in Canada?

Update on the Chinese surveillance balloon

There was something called "Open Sky" or Skys between US and Russia that was cancelled (naturally) a few years ago. It allowed the US to fly a surveillance plane over Russia, and vice-versa, maybe once a year. I'd bet a hundred quatloos that there is or was such an agreement between the US and...

Question on a employment screening test

Why isin't Norway on your list? I thought Norway's relatively high standard of living was due to their oil exports. As for Russia, everything I read says their oil exports have continued unabated this year, with a shift to China and India, even have sold above the cap price.

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

$65 USD + shipping from rock auto, "new" rebuilt alternator is in, it looks really nice, have put a dozen city miles on it, no chirping. Spinning either the new or old alternator by hand, they are similar, turn just as easily, just as quiet. This ends my quest for a sprayable lubricant that can...

Who does engine oil analysis in Canada?

Does Finning and Wearcheck serve the individual/residential vehicle owner / non commercial equipment customer? I don't see anything on their websites that makes their services easy to engage (or pay for?). The Napa kit is $46, I wonder if you can return it to the retail store or if you have to...

Who does engine oil analysis in Canada?

Just curious who does oil analysis in Canada, and what the cost is. I assume who-ever it is, their reports get posted here?

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

Even when you have an open (not sealed) wheel bearing in your hand, is there such a thing as a legitimate, proper wheel bearing grease for said bearing that comes from an aerosol spray can? Seeing photos of spray lubricants used on hinges and door latches is nice. Reading that a spray lubricant...

ZDDP concentration in Amsoil Zrod oil

Is it not possible that an older engine techology or metalurgy might require a particular oil component that is not needed for current engines and hence said component is no longer considered for api standards? Is it always the case that the current API spec is taking into account the...

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

2004 Chrysler 300m. No clutch pulley. I have 5 Chrysler 300m's of different years (2000 - 2004). They've been my daily drivers since November 1999. I've never had a serpentine belt squeel or chirp, never had to replace an alternator.

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

I'm in Kanada, our variety of retail products is at least half of what it is in the US. Can you can point me to on-line examples of sprayable greases? All I see are lithium. Is there, for example, a sprayable wheel bearing grease?

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

I'm going to replace it because one of it's bearings (probably only the front bearing but maybe both bearings) are chirping and I can't make it stop, I can't get direct visual or physical access to the bearing, I can't take the alternator apart. $90 (CAD) for a reman alternator from rock auto on...

Is lithium the only "sprayable" type of grease available in an aerosol spray-can format?

New serpentine belt, new serp belt tensioner (and this new tensioner was swapped for another as a test with no difference noted). The serp belt is about an inch wide and as we know these are not deep-groove belts and do not lend themselves to chirping. I've sprayed lithium grease and silicone...
