    2001 Camry 5sfe

Try cleaning the throttle body. Clean lint free rag dampened with cleaner, carefully wipe sides and plate. Don't hose it down with solvent.

    Small air compressor

Check out the small 'hot dog' Senco compressor. I have used Senco products/tools for over 30 years and have never been disappointed.

    BEST engines.....

Volvo red blocks, especially the last ones with the piston oil squirters. Should run forever with regular oil changes. Have two right now , 86 240 and 94 940, with almost 400k miles between them.

Help--Mech says this Ford 4.6 is ruined!

Can't say for sure if it is an interference engine, but a friend with a T-Bird and same motor, did the same thing. His brother-in-law is a Ford trained Master tech ( 30+ years),looked at it and pronounced it DOA. They installed a re-build, and he is happily on the road again.

    Biggest POS engine

When we were first married, my wife had a 1968 Renault R-10 her parents had given her. An insidious plot to bust up the marriage early on. I still have nightmares about that car.

    Accord or Camry?

Manual 4 cyl 5 speed Camry Se's are out there. We own one, love it, and the local dealer has another one in stock right now. Uncomommon, but available.

    Belt Sander

If you are dead set on doing it with a belt sander, go for the 4x24 Porter Cable or Makita. Another option to consider would be a pro type 6 inch random orbit sander or one of the pro type half sheet sanders. Some of those can be very aggressive loaded with a 60-80 grit pad or paper, and will...

    Best Serp belt?

Just checked the Gatorback on my daughter's Camry that has been in service over 100k miles, and it still looks like new.

'Real Life' MPG of 07 Camry Hybrid

I just calculated the average ( 10 tankfulls, May- July)mileage of my wife's '03 Camry SE 4 cyl with the 5 spd manual trans. She averaged 28 mpg in mixed suburban/rush hour, rural exburban driving conditions. On the long haul trip, it will post 32mpg easy. Considering her lead foot, she just...

    Trust your LIFE with???

You are correct sir. I went back and looked without the benefit? of the 103 degree fever from the bout of pneumonia I am fighting, and yes it just holds the pawl onto the release pin. I stand corrected. I am still not crazy about the overall design of the things ( ratchet types), though. But...

    Trust your LIFE with???

This thread piqued my interest, so I went to the garage and took a look at my four ratcheting type jack stands. One set is about 4-5 years old, and the other is at least 10. I do ALL of the maintenance and repairs on a fleet of five vehicles, three of which have a combined mileage of almost...

    New VW Rabbit

Listed on the spec pdf file, curb weight of 3000 lbs, pretty beefy. Whole lot heavier than the Rabbits of old. And a 6 qt oil capacity, which is nice!

Toyota 2azfe 2.4L 4 cyl just added piston oil sprayers

Or maybe they are looking into their corporate crystal ball. It could be telling them to improve the dull/boring/stodgy product image they have with some folks. My wife's '03 CamrySE has the 5spd trans, and she would have jumped on a turbo model. Or maybe planning for the near future to base a...
