    Extended OCI Experiences

I know I had previously raised this question before, but I plan on doing an extended OCI on my Crosstrek. I have two questions.. 1. Can the blue Subaru filters last up to 8k or more? If not should I switch it to the M1 extended filter? 2. Do any other Subaru owners with the newer designed...

Didn't empty out all the old oil...

To the previous poster, the topsider should work if there's a dipstick slot. Subaru's generally have everything accessible from the top, so that's why I bought one (it's also held up very well after about 5 extractions and a year of use). --- As for the topic, I swapped oil after about 600...

    Subaru Crosstrek Dipstick

So I measured it in my driveway (incline) and of course it shows that the second bubble is full now and it's slightly overfilled... Here are my concerns now: 1. I can't tell if I'm over filled or underfilled (I extracted about an additional .5 quart the other day as I noticed I had only 4 qts...

    Subaru Crosstrek Dipstick

My issue being that the dipstick looks like it's dragging oil on it, whereas if you look at the lower dot, it's completely "dipped" in oil versus the empty second dot (but oil is dragging on above the second dot).

    Subaru Crosstrek Dipstick

Okay, so I checked it on a level surface (after 25 minutes)... I need help analyzing this: So, even after wiping the dipstick, there is still some leftover oil that keeps getting all over the dipstick making it difficult to read. However, it appears that no matter how many times I let it sit...

    Subaru Crosstrek Dipstick

If I'm measuring the oil on a slight incline, will it throw off the results? I'm not sure where the sump is and how the dipstick goes into the oil, so any advice on this end will help a great deal.

    M1 Annual Protection?

I don't understand why this is bizarre. VW has a 10k OCI and those cars definitely push the oil to the limit (Castrol). I'm not a mechanic or engineer, but I'd imagine you'd have an oil consumption issue before the oil would falter (probably around 15k lol). I think BMW even used to recommend a...

    Extended OCI Subaru Crosstrek

Are there any issues with getting a Fram Ultra Guard, keeping the filter for about 12k and draining and replacing the oil every 6k? How much excess oil does a filter usually hold?

Didn't empty out all the old oil...

Okay, without getting into a debate about drain vs extracting, I removed a little less than half a quart. I'm hoping it runs better now. I'm using the Topsider MVP and I must have been slightly careless when removing it. First time it has happened when doing an OC. Unless I have a car with...
