My issue being that the dipstick looks like it's dragging oil on it, whereas if you look at the lower dot, it's completely "dipped" in oil versus the empty second dot (but oil is dragging on above the second dot).

If I'm measuring the oil on a slight incline, will it throw off the results? I'm not sure where the sump is and how the dipstick goes into the oil, so any advice on this end will help a great deal.

I don't understand why this is bizarre. VW has a 10k OCI and those cars definitely push the oil to the limit (Castrol). I'm not a mechanic or engineer, but I'd imagine you'd have an oil consumption issue before the oil would falter (probably around 15k lol). I think BMW even used to recommend a...

Are there any issues with getting a Fram Ultra Guard, keeping the filter for about 12k and draining and replacing the oil every 6k? How much excess oil does a filter usually hold?
