Thank you for the feedback. I’m currently using 1qt of Triax Synergy 0w-30 with 4 qts of Valvoline Ext Protect 0w-20. Too skeptical to use full Triax by itself. Will do UOA on it at 5k and see what it does in the mix. Appreciate the intel

Both were Valvoline High Mileage 5w-30 and the previous 10k run was topped off with a 0w-20 when I changed the oil filter half way so it turned it into a very thinned out 5w-30 thick 5w-20.

This is with Wix XP oil filter so it seems the filter did a good job. Gonna take this up to 10k miles before dumping it. It also seems that the Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator helped a bit in keeping oil stabilized and TBN held up nicely for 6.5k miles.

Agree with Rojeda… Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic or the Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage with Fram Ultra.

Usually regular. I will put 89 Octane mid-grade in occasionally when I do the fill. Otherwise my daughter puts in regular 87 Octane grade. Car runs smooth in either grade.

I agree with Gokhan. Switch to a brand that is easy to acquire...easy on the pocketbook...and has a robust and solid add pack proven by VOA's. A Valvoline or Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 or 30 will set your mind at ease. A high quality filter as well such as a Fram Ultra for $8-$9 would do the trick...

PUP has been one of my favorites... I had a very solid UOA on a 1.4 EcoTech Turbo on a 10k OCI. I've sense switched to Valvoline FS that has higher Moly, higher Titanium, higher Boron, lower Calcium, higher Magnesium, higher Phosphorus, and same amount of Zinc. And for $22 for 5 Qts at Walmart...

Good Call Bullwinkle. I just started topping off with a Valvoline Synthetic 5w40. Gonna see how it behaves over the next 1,000 miles. I added 6oz of BioTech LubeGuard and it didn't make any change to the startup noise. Gonna continue experimenting until I run out of options.
