Haha yup, with some help from the factory lifetime powertrain warranty. Truck has been crazy reliable all around despite the abuse it's withstood since day one. Got a new rear end at 275k (shattered spider gears) and...
Thanks guys...Not so concerned about wear as I am traction & steering response. Unfortunately the ko2's are out bc they only come in an 8-ply in my size, which makes them 10-15 lbs heavier than a standard tire, and don't need the extra load capacity. Once ran a similar weight 10-ply set on my...
Application is my old 2008 4.7L 6spd 4wd Dodge 1500 ranch truck with 375k miles. I drive it like a sports car (and at times a drift truck), and would like some stickier/more responsive tires. Problem is being a ranch truck, I still need to be able to get around the fields w/o getting stuck. Any...
Why all the love for Delo? I know it's good oil and we do use it at the ranch on our diesel trucks/tractors, but wouldn't a synthetic oil offer superior protection when stuff gets hot?
Truck only requires 15w40 but have been running t6 5w40 bc not quite comfortable with 15k oci's on a conventional oil, despite it being allowed by FCA. Didn't realize Rotella made a t6 15w40 or I'd happily run that. Low temps here are right at freezing or just below (high 20's F) on the coldest...
Been running T6 in my ‘16 Cummins Ram for 90k miles...seems to work just fine. Ready for another change and WM was out of t6, so picked up 3 jugs of TDT At $2 more per jug (24 vs 22)
What are thoughts on 5w40 TDT these days? I recall it was highly regarded once, but haven't heard much about...
I see your point and would tend to agree with you if it weren't my own observations. I guess my statements are based mostly on engine idle smoothness and volume. With the Zepro (on multiple occasions and today for the first time on RGT), I've exited the vehicle without turning off the engine...
20k miles in 6 months on our ‘19 cx5 non-turbo, and on to another oil. This time was Rotella GT 0w20 courtesy of the AZ clearance. Engine seems to really like this oil and idles butter-smooth, like it did on the Zepro 0w20 Moly. So far here's how I'd rank the oils tried in our Mazda (all 0w20...
Along with plenty of RGT and QSUD 0w20 for the wife's cx-5, I was able to get some PP Euro LX 0w30, Pentosin Super Performance iii 5w30, and Pentosin High Performance ii 5w40 at the famous AZ clearance.
It appears these euro oils are all low ash (MB 229.51) synthetics, and I've read many...
RL 5w30 in my cts-v wagon w/LSA now that it's off warranty, after a life of warranty-friendly PUP 5w30. It may be overkill for the job, but the car gets driven very hard though not often, and therefore doesn't see extended oci's (or frequent oil changes). It's completely anecdotal, but I have...
What year/model car? If an ‘18-up with cylinder deactivation, I'd be wary of straying from the recommended 20wt oil. The CD is activated by oil pressure, and not sure how jumping up to a 30wt oil could possibly affect that. If a non-CD engine then can likely disregard the above.
In our ‘19...
If I were commenting on this thread I would tend to agree with you guys...placebo effect. But here's my rationale...
In all of my vehicles, I heel/toe every downshift just to keep mundane drives somewhat interesting. After picking up the car from the oil change to Redline, I was slightly...
