Just like the title says, why is Mobil 1 10w-30 thinner than 5w-30?
The specs on the website say the following
5w-30 = 40C 64.8 CST, 100C 11.3 CST
10w-30 = 40C 62 CST, 100C 10 CST
pennzoil platinum for me....its seems to be favored over synpower on BITOG forums
they both cost $20 for 5 quart jug at wal mart...but I say just go pennzoil platinum just to keep it safe...its been proven time after time to be a great synthetic
Clipse3GT, I'm planning on getting an EVO X as well...I would like to know your results of the M1...please keep me updated
As far as oil choices go...it seems like the popular option for EVO X is the M1 0w-40...I will keep this in mind for future reference
How does Pennzoil Platinum handle for...
and this is all assuming for my 08 mazdaspeed 3 turbo right?
is it okay to use TDT for my engine even though its not a diesel? should I just stick with m1 0w-40 for gasoline engines instead?
Mobil 1 0w-40
or
German Castrol 0w-30
which one do you think would be better? This is going into a modified Mazdaspeed 3 2.3L turbo...direct injection too
I just went ahead and purchased the Pennzoil Platinum....5w-30
Walmart had the 5qt jug for $20 roll back pricing...sweet! I remember it was at $23 or $24
and Castrol Edge definitely dropped in pricing...I wonder whats up? It went from $34 to $26
Honda/Acura HTO-06 is a very strict standard for oils? I see it being mentioned a few times here
It looks like Pennzoil Platinum would be my best bet....thanks again...I just wanted to confirm thats all
I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 turbo with the 2.3L MZR DISI engine....its about to roll over 10k miles and I plan to switch to synthetic...what would be my best bet?
It seems like Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 is the way to go...according to all the threads I've read...I know this is a safe bet but I...
its just a pipe with a filter attached to the end...filter sits near the fender where the cold air hole is
i understand in stop and go traffic it might heat up since its metal...but she is rarely stopped...mostly hwy
Hey guys, was wondering if a bad catalytic converter will throw a DTC? Just wondering because I know with a bad coil, the engine will run real rich and can cause the catalytic converter to fail...my gf accord ran for about 100 miles before the problem got fixed...could that be enough to damage...
hey guys sorry for the delay...i totally forgot about this thread
UPDATE: it turned out to be ignition coil 1...the one closest to the passenger and rear of engine bay...i feel like a complete dummy...if i had invested in a $50 scan tool, i would immediately find a cylinder # 1 misfire...and...
this 01 v6 does not have distributor....it's direct ignition
I am having a feeling I messed up one of the coilpacks/spark plugs...or possibly the fuel injector...man I was going real easy with the water too...guess this engine is too darn sensitive
anyways i'm taking it to the dealership...
