i use about three drops of corrosion-x HD on every single lug before tightening ........... 20 years and no problems.......and never a galled nut...............(I do use a calibrated torque wrench though)............

longer than the engine lasts, if using top quality oils, filters, and changing them per the book......................this assumes you are not starting it up at 40 below and going immediately to full throttle......or something like that..............

FWIW i have ordered dozens of RP oil filters off amazon......for at least five years........(or at least as long as they have been making them)........ and have never had rust or corrosion issues..........i'm amazon prime and usually get them the next day shipping free.......but ...........i am...
